WEST TEXAS MUSCLE CAR RESCUE
Welcome to Coffee Walk Ep. 139!
I got a last minute phone call last night that a group of cars that I have been chasing for a while now could finally be mine. The kicker? It was 4pm in Dallas and we had to make it to Amarillo with the truck and trailer by morning. (Insert dad joke)… CHALLENGE ACCEPTED.
My team and I took off from the shop last night and headed out West to Amarillo, Texas for an 800 mile rescue mission. Watch us save a 1966 Porsche 912, 1968 Dodge Charger 318 V8 and a 1969 Dodge Charger 383 V8 4V 4-speed. We’ve had a high amount of energy drinks and a low amount of sleep over the last 24 hours, but the juice was DEFINITELY worth the squeeze on this one!
As always… GO FAST, HAVE FUN & HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!! and thanks for watching!

That 68 brought back a lot of good memories
I found a 55 TR5 in FT Worth Dennis 🇺🇸👍🍺
Dennis your the greatest with all the junk food stops, reminds me of when I was younger in the 70,s and eightys pulling over with ya friends to buy tons of junk food
that 53 studabaker sedan and that 57 studabaker wagon xx
I want beef jerky, Pretzels, potato chips, some chocolates for the road with a few bottles of water. I hope we can stop regularly cause my snacks makes me thirsty, so I drink a lot of water 😳
I forgot to mention that I would make a lousy business partner!!! I would keep most if the finds for myself!!!😼 😎
Oh, last thing???!!!!! I don’t drink coffee, only tee!! 😁
The M-22 is the rock crusher
I grew up in that yard. Im 40 and remember those cars sitting there.
Shame they just let those Chargers sit and rot in the yard for all those years. They could have been enjoyed and cared for by someone the last 30 years. I’ll never understand letting classics like these sit and rot. To the "they can do whatever they want, it’s their money crowd" ; BS. There is almost a moral obligation to care take art and history. This is no different than some rich guy buying the Mona Lisa and throwing it in his fireplace just because he can. Thank God for guys like Dennis. He gets it.
not all chargers had buckets I owned a 68 b5 bench seat colmn shift with power windows and rear defrost
I am 58 and had a 68 Dodge Dart, 2 door, slant six auto bench seat when I was 16. Wasn’t a fan at the time but now anything Mopar 68 I wish I had… Thanks Dennis… great episode
Are there videos of them being restored ?
Why were those wheels recalled?
Til 8:30? LOL!!!
the yard owner has some great studabakers in that yard xx
Great video 🇺🇸
THEY SOLD THE PROPER ENGINE , THEIR BAD
komme aus Germany… ein Traum die ganzen alten Autos 👍🏼 sowas gibt’s in Germany nicht….
First 2 seconds of the Porsche motor doesn’t show much, but when Dennis said vw motor, it really looks like a Porsche 912 motor to me
Awesome 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
You guys work your butts off , wow. Traveling really wears on ya especially as you get older
The owner is the type of guy to see cars rotting away just so he can say I got these cars and I can’t repair them so nobody can have them sad.

Paul here. Not only the forklift ID, but he hard is it to look around Amarillo for a parts store or wreaking/salvage yard. Detective work.
That is what dreams are made of
I think Dennis should rewatch “Bullitt” on his next movie night. 🤣
✌🏼😎
It wasn’t the cops chasing Bullit. He was the cop. It was the baddies who were trying to silence a witness to mob crimes who were after him to keep him from thwarting their master plan. Epic stuff. Too bad nowadays you can watch Arkansas police pursuits which make every Hollywood car chase ever look boring. Believe it. Or not.
Should have took bigger trailer go prepared
Sitting since 1975 yet they didnt want to sell it 🤦♂️ i dont get people to be honest
The police were not chasing Steve McQueen in the charger in the movie Bullet!
He was the police chasing the bad guys ( hit men in the Charger) with his Mustang!
Get right guys! lol lol
be nice to see rthem now
THE NEWER VIDEOS ARE BADASS COMPARED TO THE OLDER ONES! GREAT WORK GENTLEMEN
THEY WERE PAID OUT FOR A PROPER ENGINE, TWICE
This guy will make you puke….
Dennis must of really paid a lot of money for the owner to let these cars go after 30 yrs
11:11 thank goodness for Captain Save A Porsche aka Dennis for actually doing the work so these classic beauties might have life again. I, and The Car Gods too probably, salute you good Sir.
Yes,Mopar had their on 4-spd the A-833 D-21 option.
Love the show; Bullit came out in 1968 while I was in high school (freshman in 1972); one of the priests secured the film reel and let us watch it all we wanted (no streaming, no VHS, no DVD’s back then). We had the actual film. I will never know why we got to watch an R-rated movie while in a minor Catholic Seminary, but it solidified my love of cars. Frank Bullit was the police, though, and the Charger was the bad guys (not the police). We watched the car scene multiple times, in reverse, forward, slow speed, etc. The Charger loses about 5 wheel covers during the chase, and a green VW gets passed about three times. But as Dennis says, both vehicles were terrific. The only Coffee Walk episode, and I have about watched them all, that I can correct Dennis, but never on his knowledge of cars. Thanks for all the great entertainment Dennis, and for sharing your knowledge of vehicles.
09:18 😳 I hope that the Porsche and the Mopar’s are not amongst the heap of crushed ones, otherwise it is a bit too late??!!😜🤭
That’s what I like about Dennis and Richard. They will always make you a fair offer. Even if the seller does not know anything about the car. They will make you a fair offer.
They only put 1 4spd in a Mopar. It was a A833. Muncie’s were never put in a Mopar that i know of.
Awesome Porsche we have vw porsche here in uk called Covin [ I think].
69 chargers are the ultimate in my mopar taste
what a depressing sight! its a shame all these rust free car’s get crushed!👎👎
I’m confused. I thought I saw three different Chargers. The first one out in the open. The second one by the tree, 383/4V, with passenger side open space, and the third was packed in tight between cars. What did I miss? Did he have to leave one?
14:00…there are Plenty of Chargers out there 68-69-70 with bench seats/column shift….
That’s cherry Avenue junkyard in Amarillo Texas in the panhandle, Often mistaken as West Texas.
Do you think the guy in Amarillo will sell the blue Karman Ghia that was sitting near the TR3 you bought?
On the West Texas rescue, the Porche with the volkswagon motor, did they have the original porche motor for it? I was listening while sending you all an email and did not hear confirmation. Great show
One thing I find difficult to understand??!!…….people don’t want to sell their cars, takes forever to decide, while it is deteriorating and the value drops and in the long run unsalvageable!!!Sell your cars, make some money. Let others like Dennison bring it back to life, si that others may enjoy it!!!😼 😎
Buggers!!! They knew that there was a Beetle motor in that Porsche???!!! They should have told Dennis about it, people are deceitful things!!!!
WHERE’S THE BEEF… 🍔
