You misspoke when you were saying that the Dukes of Hazzard ran from 1969 to 1985. You also said 6 seasons. The show ran from 1979 to 1985 and there were 7 seasons.

I only know knight rider and dukes of hazard these others were on TV right when I was born hopfully they show up on Netflix so I can watch them maybe in the future we will see more EVs on TV and just have the old sounds of the gas cars and I hope we get a collection of the cannonball movies and they really should come out with another one either on the big screen or as a TV show and it should be a battle between gas and electric maybe it will happen once we get more conversion kits keep up the vids I really like them.

Fantastic video! I was a huge fan of the majority of these shows. Great research as well for a brief history of each of these cars/shows. You really did an outstanding job.

  4. Oz Ahmed on February 9, 2023 at 12:39 pm

The Night Rider in Mad Max part 1 was supposed to be an Ex cop who went rouge in the future. Could Michael Knight be the same guy? These franchises are connected like Marvel characters.

  5. SGTJDerek on February 9, 2023 at 12:40 pm

Nope. #1 & 2 are BACKWARDS. K.I.T.T. is NOT better than The General!

  7. Dodge Ram 01 on February 9, 2023 at 12:45 pm

Cuz or not, you know bo and Luke was hitting that!

  8. John Milligan on February 9, 2023 at 12:45 pm

My personal favorite is the Coyote X! You could buy a Charger, Vandura, Trans Am and most of the other’s and make them look like their famous counterparts. I never saw anything like the Coyote X on the street! Now that I’m older I look at it and think about the fact that getting in and out of it would be akin to folding myself in half! Dang that makes me feel old!

  9. Christian Boyd on February 9, 2023 at 12:45 pm

The Automan Lamborghini still looks amazing! Not only were these amazing cars, but almost all the theme songs were also super iconic, the 80’s were just the best.

  10. LJR on February 9, 2023 at 12:46 pm

I loved all these shows and cars back in the day

  11. JAMES BOND on February 9, 2023 at 12:46 pm

The A Team at choice Number 6 is wrong,
Knight Rider and The A Team aswell as Airwolf were the Top 3 show’s of the 1980’s.

  12. Ryno Opperman on February 9, 2023 at 12:46 pm

Are you really saying the kingswood is an iconic 80’s car
    WTF!?

  13. Jack Moorman on February 9, 2023 at 12:53 pm

What about Street Hawk can we consider that one?

  14. David Mitchell on February 9, 2023 at 12:55 pm

As I was a kid / teen in the ‘80’s and in spite of it’s “ now not appropriate” scheme? Ask anyone “what car they remember most” ?! The General Lee would be at the Top of The List… That’s my only difference to your list..

  15. duncan solloway on February 9, 2023 at 12:55 pm

    starsky+hutch wasn t 80s?-also the power wagon from simon+simon deserves a mention

  16. cartoonfan959 on February 9, 2023 at 12:57 pm

    perhaps worthy of mention
    – Dodge Macho Power Wagon from Simon and Simon (this show had a crossover with Magnum PI)
    – Dodge St. Regis (seasons 3 to 5 , S 1-2 it was a Monaco) from TJ Hooker (The Shatner playing a street cop )

  17. Jose Torres on February 9, 2023 at 12:58 pm

Crockett’s “Daytona” was as black as black comes. Not dark green

  18. Limpi43 on February 9, 2023 at 1:00 pm

I was looking for (and missing it from your list) Starsky and Hutch. Then I realized two things:
    1) it was the 70s
    2) I am old 🙁

  19. Ryan Sease on February 9, 2023 at 1:01 pm

Great video. Loved the Coyote X, but didn’t like the updated iteration of it. The original version is so cool. Keep up the great work and looking forward to more content, especially playthroughs of Mad Max.

  20. Ahvidinha on February 9, 2023 at 1:04 pm

The car from Knight Rider 2000 was built on a Dodge Stealth chassis and was front engine/front wheel drive.

  21. Alex Vélez on February 9, 2023 at 1:04 pm

I enjoyed the video but there’s an error. The 3 cars GM gave the studios to make the 30 short video for the series weren’t car 1,2,3 off of the line. The 1982 Trans Am had been in production for a few months before even Glenn Larson came up with the series. The Knight Rider Historians channel has a ton of info on the show.
There was a Coyote X that was Porsche powered and one DeLorean powered but the majority were VW powered. There are a few scenes were you can hear the VW engine.

  22. Jose Torres on February 9, 2023 at 1:04 pm

It’s crazy that the 308 didn’t have enough torque to do an impressive dead stop burnout on asphalt forcing them to do it on grass in the opening credits of Magnum P.I. Like the old cigarette ad said: We’ve (you’ve) come a long way baby!

  23. Budget RC on February 9, 2023 at 1:07 pm

great list, but I have to admit that I was extremely surprised to see Knight Rider take the Number 1 spot instead of the Dukes of Hazzard.

  24. watsis buttndo on February 9, 2023 at 1:08 pm

In my mind Ted Bullpits kingswood was beige with a white roof, 202 3speed with bench seats and rubber floor mats. Exactly the same as my uncles TWO consecutive kingswoods ,a HT then a HX. Im ptetty sure they just observed my uncle each week then wrote the show script.

  25. battlestarmarc on February 9, 2023 at 1:11 pm

    Coyote x was bad ass.
Charger in the Dukes of Hazard was a great muscle car from the 70’s.

  26. VA Dallas Cowboys Fan on February 9, 2023 at 1:13 pm

Plus the Knight Rider reboots never had a signature car, like the Viper TV show

  27. 4rephill on February 9, 2023 at 1:14 pm

The two Ferrari Testarossa’s supplied by Ferrari for Miami Vice weren’t genuine white cars – They were originally black.

The cars didn’t show up very well on screen during the night time shooting, and so the production team asked for a pair of white cars from Ferrari.

At the time, every Testarossa was already sold, and there were no spare cars available, so Ferrari had the two black Testarossa’s completely repainted white, to factory standards (not just a quick for TV "blowover"), and the rest is history.

  28. cartoonfan959 on February 9, 2023 at 1:18 pm

also worth mentioning STREET HAWK main star being a bike, it looks like a Knigh Rider ripoff but it actually came at same time and IMO a much better show

  29. Anthony Lowman on February 9, 2023 at 1:19 pm

Love the list! The only one I would disagree with would be the first, the kings wood estate. As you said it was never seen so why put on list. But the rest, magnum, hardcastle, dukes , A team Miami vice and knight rider, yes liked all of them and thank you for putting one of my favorites in there!! Stingray… loved that show!!!

  30. Dunn Different on February 9, 2023 at 1:25 pm

Top notch list my man! There was another 80s show, Scarecrow and Misses King which had a Porsche and C4 corvette.

  31. VA Dallas Cowboys Fan on February 9, 2023 at 1:25 pm

Great list I approve 👌🏾 always wondered what happened to K.I.T.T. 2000

  34. Roy Wainscott on February 9, 2023 at 1:28 pm

I’d say that countdown is probably accurate down under, but in the States it would be the Dukes at number 1, 01 that is.

  35. Michael Hutin on February 9, 2023 at 1:29 pm

Thanks MFP, you’ve done it again, shown TV shows unknown to us.
Great video as always, we all appreciate you’re hard work.

  36. muhammad naim on February 9, 2023 at 1:30 pm

Wonderful video, man! Thank you very much for putting my favorite TV series of all time, Knight Rider, at #1.

  37. knytrydr73 on February 9, 2023 at 1:30 pm

I was 9 years old when Knight Rider first aired. I was instantly hooked on it. Of course it was all about the car. I remember walking to school about a week or two after seeing the pilot movie and walking past an actual 1982 Trans Am. My 9 year old mind was blown away when I realized that amazing car I had seen on TV actually existed. Since then, I’ve owned 2 firebirds. An 89 Formula, and an 87 Trans Am. Never did a KITT replica, but that’s OK.

  39. Luis Céspedes on February 9, 2023 at 1:33 pm

I miss the 1978 Dodge Monaco of Hunter

  40. JoJo on February 9, 2023 at 1:35 pm

Great video! Great mix of well known shows and more obscure ones.
Please do a list of 90s shows and include the Viper and Defender from Project Viper.
