The Automobile: Its First 100 Years – WheelsTV

Produced by Mercedes-Benz North America in 1986, ‘The Automobile the First 100 Years’ takes a Historical look at the evolution of the Automobile and the Automobile Culture.

As some have pointed out in the comments, Nicolas-Joseph Cugnot actually created the first known “mechanical land vehicle” back in 1770. They don’t mention him, but you do see a drawing of his 1770 fardier à vapeur in the opening sequence.

About WheelsTV:

WheelsTV is the auto industry’s most trusted third-party On-the-Road Automotive video company. We make video test drives that highlight each vehicle’s key features and attributes.

If I was an adult in the 1890s I would have invented a car with a real powerful V8 engine that could do burnouts.

    First off, https://www.sciencephoto.com/media/143483/view/early-car-1897-oldsmobile.
Why was there no mention of Henry Leland?
Talk about the manipulations stolen from families. Talk about brainwashing the people.
I believe this video was biasedly created…. LOL
This isn’t the history of cars, this is a what we want you to think and know short movie.
    Sponsored by Mercedes, cowards.

  14. NintenGamer on June 14, 2022 at 3:04 pm

In my opinion, car engines have gotten way too complicated. Auto companies need to get back to simpler engines of the 1950s and 1960s while keeping the same safety standards of today.

Cheers for the Video! Excuse me for butting in, I am interested in your initial thoughts. Have you heard the talk about – Saankramer Complete Details System (search on google)? It is a good exclusive guide for learning how to check vehicle history without the hard work. Ive heard some pretty good things about it and my work buddy at last got astronomical success with it.

You use to have real service stations drive alongside the gasoline pumps over the hose that made a sound signal to let someone know you were there most often they knew the customers by name washed windshields check oil honestly these daze you get cursed at dishonesty but then going back they could even work on your autos honestly I miss the good old times we even got free air road maps some had machines vending milk even we got one dollar worth of gasoline now they want to kill you if you don’t fill it up or the pump is rigged to sell you higher cost but not the gasoline always I called consumer affairs and nearly got them put out of business honesty is the best it got me further in love with my senorita amigo and as a customer at scrap metal dealers or where I shop also there returning five cents deposits take it easy honestly it work best fo me
