In this video, we will be talking about the all-new 2023 Ford Explorer! So clearly, you do not want to miss out on this, and so, without further ado, let’s start with today’s video.

The 2022 model of the Ford Explorer has not even been officially released yet, but what are said to be leaked photos of the new 2023 Explorer have found their way online and have the fans talking.
The latest gen of the Explorer has only just found its way back into the public’s hearts after the 2020 model brought back a fan favorite, the rear-wheel-drive platform.
The Ford Explorer is an icon of Ford’s SUV lineup, carrying three rows worth of families since 1990. Ford introduced the current sixth-generation Explorer for the 2020 model year, building on a rear-drive-based platform shared with the Lincoln Aviator.

The Ford is positioned between the two-row Edge and the three-row Expedition in Ford’s SUV lineup. The Ford competes with the other three rows, including the Kia Telluride, Subaru Ascent, and Chevrolet Traverse.
Having been on the market for three years, Ford may give the Explorer a mid cycle refresh for 2023. If that happens, the 2023 Explorer will get slightly tweaked styling plus a handful of new features, potentially including Ford’s BlueCruise semi-autonomous driving system. We don’t expect any significant powertrain changes.
The only new feature the spy photos reveal is a refresh in exterior design. The SUV appears to have a slightly reshaped head and tail lights, restyled vents that are on each side of the front bumper, a new wheel design, and, most eye-catching, a redesigned grille pattern.

On the outside, the body of the Ford Explorer 2023 has been completely revamped and redesigned. It is equipped with headlamps and taillights on the front, which have similarities to the old model.
Interestingly, the latest generation has been equipped with LED daytime running light features and a new grille display that is gloss black on the ST model 2023 Explorer. The 2023 Ford Explorer Platinum is decorated with full chrome color.
The exterior design also shows black plastic wheel arches, rocker panels, and bumper guards protecting the paint. The upper part mimics the creation of a floating roof and is complemented by black A-pillars.
The 2023 Explorer carries varying wheel sizes depending on the model, starting with 18-inch alloy wheels as standard to the 21-inch alloy wheels offered on the 2023 Ford Explorer Limited variant. Some other features, such as the presence of a two-panel sunroof, are also available to enhance the interior atmosphere.

The Ford Explorer 2023 carries a powerful engine in the form of an EcoBoost engine with a capacity of 2.3 liters and the ability to produce 300 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque.

Whereas the 2023 Ford Explorer Model ST, which is intended to be sportier, also carries a V6 engine’s ability of producing 400 horsepower and 415 lb-ft of torque, the powerful engine offers more than enough to make it a fun car.
All 2023 Ford Explorer models in the entire lineup are equipped with a SelectShift 10-speed automatic transmission. At low speeds, the Performance of the New Ford Explorer 2023 shifts smoothly and feels silent.
There is a complete and very smooth package, and the New Explorer 2023 is unlikely to make enemies because of engine performance or transmission.

Ford has yet to announce the price it will offer for the latest generation 2023 Ford Explorer Price Release. Maybe some upgrades and changes will raise the bid price.

Well, guys, that is all we have for you today!

This means that this won’t come to the U.S. until 2024.

  2. jpstripeit on May 11, 2023 at 9:21 pm

Looking for a new vehicle , I drive a 2018 explorer all wheel drive with a V6 that I love. The new explorer is rear drive with a 4 cylinder turbo. I think NOT!. I think Ford dropped the ball on this one.

  4. M T on May 11, 2023 at 9:24 pm

Great. Now they can charge 65000 for a base model. These dealers are atrocious. I hope Ford will sell direct to consumer for ICE vehicles as well.

If it has the quality and reliability of the 2020-2022,….then it’s garbage. This gen explorer is an absolute quality nightmare.

  13. Fausto Naranjo on May 11, 2023 at 9:30 pm

Same old Ford, how Ford thinks to compete with other SUVs that bring lots of technology and new very attractive features and colors, like the Hyundai Palisades Caligraphy, KIA Telluride, etc.

  14. curtis wilson on May 11, 2023 at 9:31 pm

Unless they have taken steps to fix a lot of the flaws in this generation of Exploders, lol, even though women are going to buy them regardless, they’re still going to be trash!

  15. Brian B on May 11, 2023 at 9:32 pm

I would never buy an Explorer knowing the crap that I learned about the plant that produces them. This is coming from several employees that work there.

  16. Doctor Brown on May 11, 2023 at 9:34 pm

Too bad the explorer is a complete dumpster fire piece of unreliable trash… Dope looking truck but they can’t touch the Hyundai Palisade as ugly as the 2023 is…

American companies need to catch up with how reliable Japanese cars are. Jeep, Ford, Chevy, Dodge; you will never be as reliable as a Toyota, Honda or Mazda

  23. geologist131 on May 11, 2023 at 9:43 pm

Why redesign in China only? I don’t understand…I pray they make this change in 2023,

  24. E-KompaktFan on May 11, 2023 at 9:45 pm

  25. Chad Valliere on May 11, 2023 at 9:45 pm

I wish ford would do away with the super wide black textured wheel “arches”. I liked the narrower one on the previous models

There was not a 3rd row in the 90s or the early 00s. Bit more research please.

  34. Bob P on May 11, 2023 at 9:58 pm

One of the least reliable SUV’s on the road. No thank you.

  35. Frank Tags1 on May 11, 2023 at 9:58 pm

As a current owner of a late model Ford Product, do yourself a favor and DO NOT BUY A Ford. Gave them a chance and learned the hard way. It was like owning a GM product all over again. My entire Family has switched to Toyota and Honda products. I made a huge mistake buying a Ford and wish I had purchased a Toyota. I won’t make this mistake again. Love my Country, not it’s vehicles. 🇺🇸

  36. Lifted_Above on May 11, 2023 at 9:59 pm

You want to change the game? Stop making nothing but SUV and Crossovers.

  37. Dragon Fire on May 11, 2023 at 9:59 pm

I HATE the new design, it’s WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY too small looking now, great interior but that new front is just hideous

  38. Hearmon Heard Jr on May 11, 2023 at 10:01 pm

You mistated the 3.0 v6 horsepower twice you said the Platinum horsepower was 400 with 415 lb/ft of torque the you said 365 horsepower with 380 lb/ft of torque.

It appears in many of these shots I’m seeing are from the redesigned Chinese version of the Explorer. I recently spoke to my Ford dealer regarding a 2023 Explorer redesign. I was told no Changes were scheduled for the 2023 US model with a possible refresh due for the 2024 model year.

Too bad Ford discontinued V6 3.5 NA engine.

  48. rwillaz on May 11, 2023 at 10:13 pm

Hopefully this refresh will elevate the Explorer off the bottom tier of reliability.

  49. Just A Dood on May 11, 2023 at 10:15 pm

there’s no redesign that we were made aware of… it’s typically due every four years

  50. Beth Peterson on May 11, 2023 at 10:18 pm

My parents had a 1993 and 1998 Ford Explorer. Those 2 didn’t have the 3rd row seat. I remembered their 2003 Ford Expedition had 3 row back seat.
