Range Review: Volvo XC40, XC60, XC90

Range Review: Volvo XC40, XC60, XC90

No Russian-doll design approach here – or ‘bricks’; just three SUVs sharing obvious design DNA while also forging their own distinct styling paths.

Bringing these three Volvos together simply reinforces our views from both individual tests and comparisons: this is a formidable line-up with impressive consistency of quality, whether you’re looking at design, materials, safety, or engineering.

Forget Lexus, or even Jaguar. These models prove Volvo is the company most closely challenging – and in some areas beating – the established German premium brands of Audi, BMW and Mercedes. Their SUVs, anyway.

Idk if the climate control for the back is standard for xc90 in our 2018 model it isnt

  2. Nonbelieverification on May 5, 2022 at 3:42 am

    Uhm…V60?! 🙂

  3. Jimmy Christian on May 5, 2022 at 3:42 am

I wish they bring the diesel version on XC40 🙁

  4. SpiritedWhiskey on May 5, 2022 at 3:44 am

I’m 37 and just purchased the new XC40 and absolutely LOVE IT. Replaced my Subaru Outback and will never look back. This new whip from Volvo is a stunner.

  5. Aurus on May 5, 2022 at 3:44 am

Boot space with all seats in use for XC90 can’t be 967 liters, this is a mistake

  6. Greg Burville on May 5, 2022 at 3:46 am

No mention of the amazing warranty and class leading maintenance costs?

  7. MaZEEZaM on May 5, 2022 at 3:46 am

Really great comparison especially in the boot space for which for once we can actually see into rather than a dark space. For me the XC60 is the pick of the range, 5 seats and cleaner rear storage with seats down and all the tech you could really want. Great vehicles.

Xc40 is ugly in all trims. Xc90 is ugly in R design trim. Xc60 is the sweet spot in r design trim.

5.54 I had a 1995 volvo 440 i bought in 2007 – it had two inbuilt booster seats 🙂 dont think anyone else has any

  11. Aaron Mills on May 5, 2022 at 3:57 am

    Love volvo 🇸🇪❤️

  12. Abdulrahman Ali on May 5, 2022 at 3:57 am

R design is not the top spec!

  13. A Light on May 5, 2022 at 3:58 am

🌟Since you are “CarAdvice” People have a right to know that Volvo is Chinese 🇨🇳 and not Swedish , it was so many years ago but no more. 100% owned by a Chinese motor company called Geely but No ONE is talking about it. Imagine BMW owns by Ford, wouldn’t everyone talk about it? Same thing here!

  14. Tim Locke on May 5, 2022 at 3:58 am

Just bought an XC60 Momentum T5 AWD. The Mrs preferred that to the XC40….I preferred the XC40 by small amount but happy wife, happy life.

  15. raph0412 on May 5, 2022 at 3:58 am

Wow to xc40 with all that storage space. That’s weird bc I saw and read how XC60 lacks storage space compared to others in its class.

  16. lisajason111 on May 5, 2022 at 3:58 am

    Just under

  17. Abbas Hidayathullah on May 5, 2022 at 4:00 am

    V90 cross-country? ?

  18. ToddHendry on May 5, 2022 at 4:04 am

Bought an XC90. Love it. Second one in 11 years.

  19. Matthew on May 5, 2022 at 4:09 am

Xc90 all the way winner to buy…… Its volvo main seller & suv killer among others brands. Xc40 / 60 is too uncomfort to drive…

  20. Josef Sacala on May 5, 2022 at 4:09 am

Hope i could have one of these, btw i love your vids

  21. Cowen K. Gittens on May 5, 2022 at 4:12 am

    Great review.

  22. sydtesla on May 5, 2022 at 4:14 am

Volvo has always been innovative design wise

  23. Mozes Keresztes on May 5, 2022 at 4:15 am

7:31 the trunk size is swapped xs40 with xc90

  24. Andrew Tan on May 5, 2022 at 4:16 am

There’s a mistake here at 7:29, the pictures showing the boot spaces of the 3 models are not in the correct order. XC90 looks the smallest while XC40 looks the biggest.

  25. Huw Williams on May 5, 2022 at 4:18 am

Voice control for climate works brilliantly. Passenger can use touchsreen if they want a different temp to driver and driver can synchronise by voice when appropriate. Just say ‘temperature twentyone’ and its done.

  26. Arquadia on May 5, 2022 at 4:21 am

Really would like the new V60 hybrid instead.

  27. hks071 on May 5, 2022 at 4:21 am

Xc90 owner here, mine looks exactly same as the one in video. Its a beautiful car

  28. farren mahamud on May 5, 2022 at 4:23 am

    volvo xc60 mmmmmm THE BEST

  29. dcx on May 5, 2022 at 4:27 am

CarAdvice.com this is the best format for a car review.

  30. Chris Mccann on May 5, 2022 at 4:28 am

Completely wrong with model designation. Entry momentum or range topping r design?? Think that’s the inscription… basic stuff this. It’s momentum… r design… inscription

  31. Charlie Boy on May 5, 2022 at 4:29 am

All reviews say the XC40 is for the younger generation 0_o "Young" as in +35 years old & doing well for themselves.
I don’t know too many people in their 20s looking to buy a Volvo that expensive.
Even if they were rich in their 20s then I highly doubt they would look at a Volvo :/

  32. Jack Leo on May 5, 2022 at 4:30 am

2:22 funny, I actually own both the 2021 xc40 and 2018 evoque lmao

  33. Armantas Mankevicius on May 5, 2022 at 4:30 am

Inscription is mid spec???? I thought it was the highest one. In the UK it is the most expensive

  34. dagda3000 on May 5, 2022 at 4:31 am

Nice. Will get my XC60 R-Design T6 with 22" rims in about one month.

  35. Kim Faes F*Kim on May 5, 2022 at 4:33 am

Still need to get a mobile phone simcard for my carmodem in my xc40 😁 got it in januari and i love it a lot in belgium price start at 33.000 € in netherland it’s 10.000€ more.

  36. Arnov Patra on May 5, 2022 at 4:39 am

Can we do a similar video on BMW X1 X3 and X5
