I drive a Toyota Camry from 2003. Almost have 270k miles and the only work I’ve ever had to do was fluid changes, battery replacement, and an exhaust pipe fix (was cheap and easy), and that’s it that I can think of on the top of my head

I have a 2012 vw golf (mark 6). Base model 5 cylinder witha 5 speed manual. Best car I’ve ever owned. 60k miles delivering pizza with 5k mile synthetic oil changes. Only had 1 issue and it was fixed under california emissions warrenty. Love this car so much. Sounds damn near like a lambo

My year 2000 ford would have issues every week or two, not joking -BUT it was incredibly easy to work on and parts are dirt cheap and easily available (junkyard or new).

  5. DookB on May 10, 2022 at 6:03 am

I drive a Lexus and I’ve never felt so secure in my life. 13 years of driving BMW had my anxiety levels maxed out.

  6. DareToBeDeviant on May 10, 2022 at 6:06 am

Anything from the Big Three of America – Ford, Chrysler, and GM. They haven’t made much of anything to write home about since the 80s which is when quality went down the tubes. My father’s Plymouths will outlast any car which rolls off the assembly next year.

Buy (Asian) import and save money. Buy European if you hate yourself or someone else but gift it to them.

It’s reassuring to hear decent things about Subarus overall. I’ve got a Subaru Forester for commuting, and it’s just fine for me.

the SAAB they speak is the GM ones or chinese own?

  9. KE2073 on May 10, 2022 at 6:09 am

Bought a 2017 Toyota Corolla a few years back. The biggest piece of junk I’ve ever been terrified to drive. The steering broke, the transmission slipped (with less than 8,000 miles on it) the collision avoidance brakes activated without reason, the suspension creaked, spent all I had to trade it in and bought a Honda. Best car I’ve ever had!

  10. tanghho on May 10, 2022 at 6:10 am

  13. MarvelousSeven on May 10, 2022 at 6:12 am

Chrysler…stop. You just need to stop making cars. Shut everything down and go home. Seriously.

  14. Zævir on May 10, 2022 at 6:15 am

Saturns don’t fucking break. Ours lasted for damn near fifteen years.

  21. animal16365 on May 10, 2022 at 6:23 am

If you want to drive into the desert. Buy a range rover. If you want to leave the desert buy a toyota.

  22. MissHillaryIgrainne Carter on May 10, 2022 at 6:26 am

Not gonna lie, (might be biased) but manual Tritons are so much better than the autos

  23. Fournier Gangrene on May 10, 2022 at 6:27 am

Ford Taurus/Mercury Sable/1990s era FWD Lincoln Continental, Ford Aerostar & Explorer, anything made by Daewoo (such as the Suzuki Forenza and Verona, Chevy Aveo, etc), PT Cruiser, 1990s-era Hyundais, and quite a number of others, seem to put food on tow drivers’ and mechanics’ dinner tables, by way of being planned-obsolescence disposable appliances that idiots keep dumping money into.

  24. veggieh8r on May 10, 2022 at 6:27 am

I can’t stress enough how bad a build quality Dodge/Chrysler is. Even the plastic rots. That is not a joke.

  25. TinyTerror99 on May 10, 2022 at 6:28 am

    Mazda…
    But we’re a Mazda dealer

  26. Stephanie Howe on May 10, 2022 at 6:29 am

Yep my Dodge Caravan is ok.
The Chrysler Pacifica what a Piece of crap gas gauge went over $1200 to repair

  27. Jayknee Garner on May 10, 2022 at 6:30 am

Not a mechanic but I gotta throw in the Ford Tempo! My sister bought one for her first vehicle after she got her license! That freaking car was cursed! You fixed one thing another broke! Over and over again! On the one occasion it stayed together for any length of time! Sister drove it to work and while doing her shift someone forced the window down and stole the cheap pioneer CD player! Ripped it right out of the dash! Hoping that at least a little bit of the curse was transferred to the thief. Car ended up being sold for scrap not long after! It holds the family record for most parts replaced in a 2 week period!

  28. RUSTYCHEVYTRUCK on May 10, 2022 at 6:30 am

My dad has been a mechanic for 42 years and he says in the US the worst cars for the past 30 years have been Nissan, and they’ve been getting worse, he also really hates Hondas for being deathtraps

  29. zilksmooth on May 10, 2022 at 6:31 am

Modern BMWs have internal cooling passages that are made of plastic. They will crack after multiple heat cycles. There is no maintenance that can be done to avoid this. The repairs will be very expensive as the engine will have to be partially disassembled. Never buy a BMW.

  30. FrosTy GlocK317 on May 10, 2022 at 6:35 am

I can attest to the 91-93 accord part, bought my 92 accord with odometer stuck at 314k. Drove it around 60k, blew the head gasket bc of radiator issue, drove it another 10k with it drinking as much coolant as I could put in it and sold it for $100 and still saw it around for a years when I upgraded to an 06 with 181k, and just passed 255k. Have only had to have the oil drain bolt rethreaded and put tires on it 🙂

  31. Barp Soon on May 10, 2022 at 6:35 am

I am so glad I own a Honda. Super reliable and easy to maintain. Parts are cheep and easy to install.

  33. knowthetruth1492 on May 10, 2022 at 6:37 am

I don’t care how much money I’d save. I’d rather drive my BMW X5 over a RAV4 any day. I get depressed driving in cheap and sluggish Japanese cars

  34. Derek Dlick on May 10, 2022 at 6:37 am

Ase L1 master, honda, toyota master here.
    Chevy
    Chrysler/jeep/ram
    Ford
    Anything German
All of these suck donkey dick.
    Support American workers!! Buy Japanese!

  35. Mysticus Freeze on May 10, 2022 at 6:39 am

My dad has a 2006 honda that work perfect and gets regularly asked by people if he’ll sell it to them

  36. CyberdelicXP on May 10, 2022 at 6:41 am

Ive owned a Chrysler, ford, dodge, and 2 Honda’s, and a Toyota..im not a "car guy" or have any brand loyalty, but do the basic upkeep on my vehicles. The Honda and Toyota have proven to be most reliable, in my experience.

  37. I am the Offender of All on May 10, 2022 at 6:41 am

Nissan and Infiniti non problematic? WHAT??? That, Hyundai/Kia or Mopar/FCA vehicles.

  38. dirtybaystrangler on May 10, 2022 at 6:43 am

To the guy that mentions that the Cummins is decent fails to realize that it is decent because it is not made by Chrysler.

  39. R j AJ on May 10, 2022 at 6:44 am

A lot of these "mechanics " need to realize every single make and model has it’s own issues that make or break the vehicle. In my shop the most worked on vehicles are as follows. Anything ford, kia,Hyundai, chevys and nissans. I could literally make a list of problems from every single make and model vehicle. Hell even toyotas have been failing a lot lately. It’s the newer ones of you’re wondering. No I’m not hating on any single brand just my 2 cents being a mechanic in southeast Texas.

  40. DMAX4333 on May 10, 2022 at 6:45 am

Suzuki Grand Vitara, sidekick, samurai and xl7 build before 2006 are highly underrated. They can easily outperform Honda’s of that era in reliability if taken care of.

  41. Tom Hubbard on May 10, 2022 at 6:45 am

Basically American cars are complete dogshit, German cars are too complicated and expensive, british cars are built poorly.

    I’m british.

Buy Japanese. Family has had a 350z 3.4l for 150k miles and never had any issues.

  42. Hisoka Morow on May 10, 2022 at 6:45 am

I have zero respect and empathy for the mindless fools who drive Chrysler PT Cruisers.

  43. ithebot on May 10, 2022 at 6:48 am

why is dodge, jeep and chrystler so unrelable so should plymouth be on that list two

  44. Viper TheLegend on May 10, 2022 at 6:49 am

What confuses me is that Jaguars and Land Rovers are disposable in terms reliability but their parent company, Tata Motors, makes indestructible vehicles. Come to think of it, Indian cars in general are built like tanks.

  45. swededude1992 on May 10, 2022 at 6:55 am

I live in Sweden. I use alot of public transportation here.

German trains are allways catching on fire here.

French trains allways have a mechanical issue that needs to be dealt with before being able to drive it.

Italian trains refuses to drive in snow.

The last pure 100% Swedish trains where build in the 90:s. The only thing that ruins those are the occational bad driver. You can also still find old Swedish trains in regular service in all former Soviet/ Ussr countries that are as old as W.w.2.

  46. ithebot on May 10, 2022 at 6:55 am

chrystler dodge and jeep maybe plymouth are unrelable but plymouth cars are older

  47. Jonathan Villalba on May 10, 2022 at 6:55 am

Infinity G35/G36 are riddled with issues. The automatic Nissans with the CVT trans (Altima/Maxima) are also infamous for crapping out. Once a Toyota engine starts acting up, its time to parts ways.

  48. Wicked Amoeba on May 10, 2022 at 6:58 am

My first car was a Dodge Neon. A lot of things make sense now.

  49. TheSupervillain316 on May 10, 2022 at 6:58 am

GM. They feel an engine puking at 70k is normal and wouldn’t honor the powertrain warranty or their secret warranty on that engine.. told me pay cash and argue with corporate. I have a Toyota now, 110k so far and hasn’t needed an engine.. hmmm

  50. Ryan guy on May 10, 2022 at 6:59 am

Don’t buy a GM. They are the worst. Bad design and cheap parts. Then when u want a part for your American car the dealership sells u a cheap China made parts. SMH
