Firms must ask themselves, “what do customers want” “how do firms compete” and “what are the death bells of this industry”
Take those together and you begin to put together the 5-6 industry key success factors.

Wow very interisting and well explained. How about updating KSF (key success Factor) ? is it every 3 years? and in this VUCA Era, how many years ideally we must update our Key Success Factor? I understand that we derive KSF from 5 porter industry. But, is it still relevant today that theory?
I just love the whole 80s work place etiquette vibe of this video. Was waiting on the technicolor fade-out. In all seriousness, this really helped me and broke it down to its simplest terms and most convenient definitions. This is really helping me in my module especially because this course was given to us as short videos and I’ve been unable to ask questions as I usually do.
you would want to do a SWOT analysis and take into account the key success factors when you do the swot analysis. they are not the same thing though

You made an excellent point of finding key strategies, but not going after all of them. Makes me think how important your audience is to know if you’re a price maker or taker. What theur elastisities would be. Bioware made my all time favorite game Mass Effect 1. Then they made the legendary Mass Effect 2. The third game they messed up on what the audience wanted. Videogamers and YouTubers still chew out the game. It’s sad when a giant becomes a lesson.
Well explained and great examples. I did think the exposition was a bit fast and short in concepts. Should’ve focused a little more in general rules, as well as sources & dimensions of CSFs as defined by John Rockart.
