Man, people climb on these dangerous car mountains to pull parts?? What a law suit it would be if a car fell on someone

I remember when I had put one seat belt in the back of a Renault 11 which had no seat belts in the back. It failed its Ministry of Transport Test as once you have one seat belt in the back it had to have both but no seat belts as produced was not a problem! I clambered around a local scrap yard until I found one, not surprisingly in a written off sports model.

I also had a Morris Marina which I bought which had no oil in the differential when I topped it up and inevitably failed. A local mechanic did a business sourcing spares from the yards and replaced it at minimal cost and it worked fine until I sold the car. I spent hours under the car trying to undo the prop shaft nut but only found out later special equipment was needed. The gear lever used to come out when I pulled it to select reverse but shoving it back in was fine. The electrics could not really support everything being on at the same time. The glories of the old UK auto industry in one package.
