ASE is important in the state of Florida. Every certificate is what you can do in your shop. At least it is in Miami dade county. Take note as a shop owner.

We flip vehicles (cars, trucks, boats, tractors…) 100% because we don’t want to deal with walk-in customers. 80% is body / paint work. The most important things I look at when purchasing a flip vehicle flip is (1)interior condition and then mileage, Mileage, MILEAGE.
Owned shops in the mid-west and south, maybe its different in California, but anything over 140,000 miles is harder to sale and the last thing you want to do is sit on a flip vehicle for any length of time.
As for trailers – a good 18′ steel deck dove tail car hauler can be had new for around $2,000. We buy up to 500 miles away and have several ranging from haulers to heavy equipment. For us, I consider a trailer equipped with a strong wench shop equipment that is vital as a compressor.

Regulations and taxes are necessary, you don’t want someone pouring oil or coolant down any open drains. Every plastic bag I bring from the store goes directly into the garage. Taxes also pay for schools, roads, police and other things including social programs that don’t always work but are helpful to lots of people.

This is why everything is going up. if u raise minimum wage by force, u apply all kind of rules n regulations that cost business to pay them all that will happen is those fees will be passed on to the customer by raising the price of there services or goods and it will basically be as if the raise never happened, but tell this to them dumb as democrats who don’t know anything about running a business. if u do some research like 90% of politicians were not rich prior to getting in politics but once in politics they become millionaires cuz they get bribed by huge corporations to pass laws that benefit them!!

I disagree that customers don’t care about ASE etc. Particularly when trying to attract new clients. “Clients only care that you can fix their car” how do they know that if they haven’t used you before? I won’t take my cars to shops without staff with certification

Excellent idea about the multiple Shops…. Its called buying up the area……. There were 2 here in the same town far in the burbs from Chicago…. Makes total sense .
So watching this video what’s very interesting my question to you is that do you believe that you need some real-world experience before going off on your own. I am a diesel tech student at Idaho State University and my plan is to open a small 4-bay shop but everyone I’ve talked to in the industry that runs their own shop says that you need a couple of years of real-world experience so I guess my question to you is do you think you need real world experience to open a shop or coming out of school do you have enough knowledge 2 start a business now my next question to you is do you think that it is worth the 3 years or so it takes to get a business degree or go to a business school to run a business.

Great video bro been watching you for about two weeks now. I’m a shop owner as well I’ve had 4 shop in total I’m now 26 year in my shop now and you so right taxes worker comp insurance is fucked up. It I found for help early on is to sponsor an employee here illegally helps them and you also I did sr22 witch is a mechanic pays his own taxes for the shop owner it help a lot two choices witch I’m sure it’s something you’ll figure out soon . Also as I opened more shops at the same time I found the store I was not at suffered from theft from employee or customer who wanted to see me and one shop would pay the other shops bills long story but great videos bro I like the way you think keep it up

i do not understand your point on why the government does not like entrepreneurs… the governments loves people that employee people that is the whole point of capitalism.. the more money that everyone has or income they received means a greater chance to tax.. if an individual doesn’t work then they can’t be tax as much… therefore i believe governments love entrepreneurs and there is also some tax breaks many don’t know of for entrepreneurs… i believe thats why the saying originated from " the rich get richer and the poor stay poor" because entrepreneurs learn to leverage their knowledge and skills. what do you think??
In canada you need a red seal ticket(or 6 years exp with knowledge test) to do vehicle safety inspections. Don’t think you need certs for doing other repairs though, just your basic business permits.
I’d like to start a marine diesel repair biz but I’m not a mechanic and don’t want to wrench. I’d need to hire a tech instantly then do all the back office and sales work. How can I figure out how much that would cost?
I buy cars super reliable low milage cars and don’t care if they look like shit.. they cost less that way and I drive them a decade changing brakes and tires .
