Hi Scotty , i have an old Opel Monza 1600 GSI and i have an issue with the petrol sender unit..The gauge only starts reading when the tank is just under half any lower than that it then shows empty and the petrol light comes on and i can’t get a replacement sender unit because the car is to old. 1993 model is there any way that someone could repair that sender unit ,what would you recommend. I live in South Africa and the chances of me getting a new sender unit are zero.

I watch you and channel twice a day. I am confused regarding the information and endorsements on Headlight treatment. You recommend both Plexus and Meguairs so which one is better?

Shoot. I tried to join Google+ and they said it doesn’t exist any more. My emergency brake light goes off and on (Toyota Tacoma 2004), and the dealer checked everything and they couldn’t find anything wrong. Of course, it was off by the time I got there.

    Hey Scotty.

Nothing to do with cars. So I just wondered if you had an extra part in the film sometimes they come back directed by Stephen King. In about 1991. As there was a guy in that film that looked exactly like you

Hey Scotty, I have been following you on YouTube for some time. I have been looking for an2002 or 2003 Toyota 4runner with no luck so far…what are your thoughts on 2013-2015.Camry or Avalons? We have a 2003 Camry.4cyl and loved it, but my wife wants something newer. I am a disabled vet and don’t drive much, but I want the 4Runner and my wife wants a newer Camry or an Avalon. Are those model year Camry or Avalons ok or not?

have a 2005 Toyota highlander with a V6 motor. It has 282,000 miles always serviced, oil changed every 4000 miles. I used 5/30 ,GTX blended oil. It runs great , however if it sits for longer than 2 days it chatters and clang in the upper motor. If I run it everyday no noise.
No mechanic can tell me why.
Would you recommend an additive. Or lighter weight oil? What would you recommend?

Hey Scotty, my first time asking a ?.. I just had a brand new rack and pinion installed today+ shocks and struts 11/10/21. Should it feel stiff at first to turn the steering wheel, my mechanic stated to drive it for a couple of days on the street before having the alignment done, just need a 2nd opinion, can you help me out. Hope I’m not going to mess things up. Waiting for your response.

Could you please kindly let me know what motor oil is best. I have a 2007 Camry with 187,00 miles in South Florida. The motor oil cap says: 0W20 5W20. I want the car to last me a long time. I have heard so so so many different opinions from autoshop stores, mechanics, Toyota advisors, oil companies. Some say 0W20 others 5W20 and some have even said 5W30. Then there is the comments of full synthetic, synthetic blend, regular motor oil. Please, please answer – I trust your opinion. Thank you

    Hi Scotty love your videos!
So I just bought a 2008 Toyota solar convertible. Paid $1200. Great price. The only problem is the power windows don’t go down and neither does the top. I have put it down manually+ a little heavy). Was wondering what you think is the problem? I truly value your opinion. Thank you for your time. Holly

Scotty, this question comes from Athens, Greece. In Greece cars over 1998 cc engines are taxed heavily due to the economic crisis limiting greatly decent car choices. For this reason I would like your suggestion among three cars I have picked out. Being a father of three kids and the owner of a Ford Focus C-Max 1.8 cc petrol engine – model 2007 – I was thinking of changing it for either a Toyota Yaris Cross 1.5 cc – 125 hp petrol engine or a Subaru Crosstrek with a 1.6 – 116 hp petrol engine or a Toyota Corolla Cross 1.8 hybrid 140 hp engine. Any suggestions? Or is it a bad moment due to chip shortages and the economy to buy and better leave it for later?

Should you change your transmission fluid if you never have and don’t know if the vehicle has ever? Engine is at 180,000 and want to make it keep going.

  30. Kevin Camilleri on February 11, 2023 at 1:25 pm

Hi Scotty, the one most important reason for not buying a used car is if the owner used fast type waxes with chemicals that in the long run, 5 years or more, damage paint to the degree the clear coat dissolves along with the eventual paint below it. So when you see a vehicle shiny and glowing you know your next.

Scotty – I found it hilarious that Tesla Cars have a factory installed tow hook in the front end for when the electricity runs out so the car can be pulled up onto a flat bed tow truck. Please remember this when posting stories about electric cars. They were planning on roadside failure due to dead batteries.

  38. Rick Ramjet on February 11, 2023 at 1:40 pm

Scotty, you wonder why Honda is still using a timing belt on its 3.5L V6. You of all people should know. They are padding the Honda and Acura dealers pocket book. Where would most people take their vehicle for the 100K belt change, the dealer.

Also when you were showing people how to do a brake change you never told them to remove fluid from the brake master cylinder before compressing the caliper puck back into the caliper housing recess

Regarding Hyundai recall on 8 speed DCT. Your being to hard on Hyundai/Kia. All car manufacturers have recalls, and that’s a fact. Been leasing Hyundai’s for years with no major problems. Currently drive a 2021 Santa Fe, 2.5turbo with the 8 speed dual wet DCT. Fastest SUV in their fleet (0-60 in 6.2 seconds). Love the DCT, getting avg 26mpg. No DCT trouble.

Hey Scotty or friends, I have a 2006 Honda Accord with the four cylinder, has about $150,000 miles on the car, been a good car I was driving home the other night and all sudden kind of went poof, the RPMs will not go over 2200 and it chugs and bogs out have to drive under 40, even in part the RPMs will not rev over 2,000, took it to my mechanic he put in two new O2 sensors and said he drove it and it was fine, it seemed to do it after it warms up after about 4 or 5 minutes, once again it started to do it again I just dropped it back off at the mechanic shop again, what do you think?
