When did we allow money aa a concept to be this powerful? More importantly, why the fuck to we believe in it? All it is used for is a tool to exactly control your poverty.

  4. Enrique Vasquez on July 20, 2023 at 3:41 am

Love your videos! Would be interested in seeing the end of the video realized in your vision. Like how would a change in infrastructure look like? How can we adjust in the most efficient and quickest way? Like an extension of each of your videos; where you provide an idea of one solution or a host of solutions and how to implement them. I’d watch the hell out of that

Your videos are absolutely excellent! I’m a masters student studying art history and architectural history writing about suburbia and the current dystopia and the idea of the American dream

Public transportation is great if you like living in a crowded city. But it is slow, and very limited in where it travels and when it travels. It seems like more of a “well it might be better “ for a select few

  11. nbttl 1 on July 20, 2023 at 3:52 am

So my grandpa always told me that story about GM and Wilson, and when I would mention that to people I would be told it was lies. People didn’t want to believe it and instead fell their patriotic feelings with GM.

I’ve always hated America’s car dependency and didn’t think this rabbit whole could go any deeper – but here I am.

I want a boat. A sail boat some of the 1st means of transportation ever. Boats are cool. Maybe a row boat or a sail row boat for crossing oceans. That would be cool cross oceans in a row boat. Boats are awesome

The Green New Deal is nothing but CRAZY. Yeah, we will provide funding for those "unwilling to work". It was in the bill.

I’m not mad at them for doing business the way they did, I’m mad at them for doing business. EAT THE RICH, REDISTRIBUTE THE WEALTH TO THE MASSES, ALL YOU HAVE TO LOSE IS YOUR CHAINS

There are many conflicting opinions about stocks and their prospects in the coming years; I aim for short-term solid gains from market corrections, and I would definitely hop on the ride if I knew a couple of things about day-trading, That is not on my speed right now i guess…. I’m just looking to make the right moves to help me grow and protect my $670,000 reserve from inflation that looks so scary.

That was the best patreon ad I’ve ever seen. "climate comedy"?!?

  22. ONEIL311 on July 20, 2023 at 4:07 am

It’s kinda weird you didn’t mention in the 1930’s the car became a romantic symbol like a horse with outlaws like Bonnie and Clyde and effects of ww2 on the highway systems from a key reason why they were built and how they were designed. The highway systems were actually design to not only move troops quickly but be a defensive structure in of itself. The high ways were never straight and the department of war spend years designing them to be send through choke points to make it hard hostile forces to actually make progress on the highway. They are inefficient in actually traveling through the country by design.

  24. Kooka Munga on July 20, 2023 at 4:15 am

Great video. I am car- light and cycle often so I am keenly aware of how intrusive cars have become . I live in a fast growing city and the downtown has already run out of space for parking and the streets can’t be widened more than they already are . Conspiracy theory nutjobs want to kill the whole bicycle infrastructure movement before citizens can get a taste of what decent bicycle infrastructure is .

  25. Tori on July 20, 2023 at 4:16 am

this is the best youtube video i’ve ever seen. immaculate. bravo.

And then abandoned America for cheaper manufacturing costs and better returns for shareholders.

I love seeing these videos and wondering how they never use "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" bits, since that is the whole premise of that movie…

  30. Ewan Herbert on July 20, 2023 at 4:17 am

I find it funny that Japan is one of the world’s great automobile-making countries, while having some of the most walkable cities and best public transport systems.
I guess a clever dealer never gets hooked on his own product…

  31. Johnny Cassell on July 20, 2023 at 4:18 am

The automotive industry is the devil. From the manufacturers purposely desiring vertical disintegration, to the car salesman screwing you over on his stupid little Foursquare, to getting absolutely annihilated in the service department. The automotive industry is run by a dirty lunch room of sociopathic money-grubbing weirdos. They hire these good honest hard-working people and pay them just enough money where they won’t self delete. I worked in sales for a short time and service for a very long time and it is a business that should be avoided at all costs. I’ve often thought that the toxic nature of the dealership ultimately came down to a cultural disease from their shaping of the country to fit their needs. This documentary details that perfectly. I love your YouTube channel, you calamitous climate comedian

  32. Vincent Chambers on July 20, 2023 at 4:18 am

So GM created a diorama which was so big they needed to create public transit so people could view it?

  33. Thomas on July 20, 2023 at 4:19 am

or how most big industry players keep you locked in and or locked down with the illusions of choice and quality/innovation just to keep your money and new competition at bay.

  34. Ironcore on July 20, 2023 at 4:19 am

You expose some crazy (albeit openly known and available) info here. You dont hold yourself back by focusing on your point either. Instead, you frequently trojan horse your way into social justice propaganda also. Slick filming, creative cuts and catchy music lend an almost factual credence to your opinions. One might take away an idea that america was founded on corrupt and racist principals instead of seeing for themselves that humanity is actually what is built on these principals. You would have to be some kinda mongoloid jaythinker to believe all of this propaganda and corruption is not only no longer happening but isnt worse than its ever been in history. The CURRENT administration is literally filled with the “wrong” people being in charge of what they should not be. Wake up

As a former Ecoslobian, I sure appreciate your videos.

*You lost my support when you brought up the "green new deal."*

Making Government Beuaracrats the solution, isnt much too different than using Corporate Beuaracrats.

Not like theres much of a difference.

Is that statue (12:26) not even knee-ooed? What a big girl’s blouse disgrace.

  39. John Spence on July 20, 2023 at 4:21 am

This is a cool video but ignores the role of the automobile in the Cold War completely. Your dad might like to tell you Ronald Reagan defeated Communism but it was really General Motors.

  40. Dolfuny on July 20, 2023 at 4:22 am

What if we do it in the road, it being public transportation, let’s do it

  41. _m_ _m_ on July 20, 2023 at 4:22 am

    radical!!!

  42. Obi Wan Cannabi on July 20, 2023 at 4:23 am

for the most part WWII was a matter of controlling the auto industry, you had Ford vs VW, middle class to themselves vs affordability, maybe the wrong side won, think about it, unlimited speed limits on the motorways, affordable cars for all, and one major religion silenced.. if they were all silenced we could move on, religion has done enough damage to our world for us to want it wiped out.

  43. data709 on July 20, 2023 at 4:25 am

C02, is plant food. if there’s a better choice, make a competitive alternative available first, before tearing what’s there down. Nobody would breath bad air given the choice, its sure to win anyway with this corporate sponsored, WEF backed agenda.

  44. Thibault Kreutzer on July 20, 2023 at 4:26 am

Damn, you’re good! Had a good laugh at 13:24, did not see it coming! Informative, incredible humour, what a genius you are sir. Much respect from Freiburg, southern town in Germany!

Diorama? That’s what Hitler did for his new world cleaned out vision- for him.

The ability to make this content entertaining and urgent is remarkable. Well done. Seriously, so impressed.

  47. Grunkle Sam on July 20, 2023 at 4:31 am

I live in Canada, and my city has decent public transport, but it is incredibly unreliable and often slow and crowded. This video really made me realize that that is in large part due to how far dependant we are.

  48. ThePizzaMuncher on July 20, 2023 at 4:31 am

This. This is based. Allied-up and not afraid of it? Motorcycles, but not for car-dependence?
    Based

  49. Robert DesVeaux on July 20, 2023 at 4:35 am

It takes me 7 seconds to hear a radical. Outlaw cars and we have the biggest depression in history. I study people and I’ll guess 75% of people when crossing the road, do not look at cars (unlike how I was taught).

If I had a dollar for every organization that existed years before i was alive that have completely hijacked and taken control of the life of myself and others id have enough money to afford rent.
