It is a great exclusive product for discovering some tricks to repair your vehicle without the normal expense. Ive heard some unbelievable things about it and my work buddy got excellent success with it.
Can a mechanic who doesn’t want to own a shop, meet customers here and service their cars?
We need more of these shops here in SoCAL. Corporations want people to be non-handy and always spend money on repair everything.
I wonder what they liability could be like. Be you have to sign some waivers ?
There’s a place in southern Ohio called bay 6 self service garage. Have been hearing advertising on the radio for over a year. Thought it was a good concept.

I’ve been looking for a shop like this in VA for years.. to the point I almost did the same idea because I can’t get on post anymore.
When I was in the military I use the DIY all the time, save lots of money plus learn and at the same time hows things work in your car.
Someone opened one of these in Texas. My dad was in the military and used a few of these at different bases . They were referred to as Hobby shops. There have been times when I’ve needed this service but couldn’t find one

Just as as you were explaining the DIY garage I was thinking we had these at all military bases and lo and behold the owner explains his military connection!! Yes these are great for the DIY mechanic who needs more just a driveway to some repairs.
Should have these in California, if like to have one like that.
I’ve always hoped this concept would catch on everywhere. At all the post I was assigned to in the Army, I used the DIY craft shop to repair my cars. Even now being retired, I still use the DIY craft shop on the local post to me, being Fort Hood which is almost always full. It’s a great thing to have access to. I know of a DIY motorcycle shop in Austin, TX called Buds Motorcycle Shop.

Can you tell me as far as the 07-14 Escalades,Surburbans,Yukon XL,which ones are the most durable and reliable for the money???
We had something like this on a smaller scale in Springfield Illinois but it was only around like 6 months and the owner shut it down because the insurance was too expensive for how many people were actually using it. Or atleast that’s what he says. But it’s sad. A lot of newer cars aren’t really meant to have the oil changed on a standard jack. Takes so much longer to drain. A lot of up and down is involved. Something like this would help tremendously. Wish it would stick around here..
Insurance would be an issue but everyone I have been in always have a lift operator. They do not let you operate the lifts some thing about insurance.

I’m in Sarasota, would love to open one of these! I’ll bet insurance and liability is huge. Especially in FL.
Doesn’t fit into the the throw away society they all want us all to know, that, and local city ordinances are setup to fine you for working on your own cars in your own driveway. Most city ordinance say 72 hours brakes, and oil changes, minor repairs ok only, no major repairs, but then again major repairs could fall under ones opinion of what a major repair is ….. As far as I’m concerned as long as your not making a mess oil everywhere, what you do on your own property should be your business even if it takes longer than 72 hours …..
I just found out about a DIY auto shop in Chicago. I didn’t know such businesses existed everywhere.
My dad has always been more mechanically inclined than me. I can do some wrenching, but I trust him more than I do myself. Definitely need something like this around my neck of the woods.

In 2018 a couple are sitting on the couch after a monumental dinner. Husband says to wife "Hey,we should start a shop that has a dedicated area we can rent to DIY oil changes,tires ect.". Wife says "Terrific, we could prolly get that going. It’ll take a lot of work though". Husband nods and grunts a little as he hits his fresh pen (you all know what I’m talking about 🙂 hehe). All was forgotten in mere seconds.
I had no idea this was a thing and forgot all about even talking about it.

Pretty awesome idea, I know some of that shit costs thousands, so it’s nice to get top tier equipment that you’ll only use once a year for a lower price.
This kind of thing needs to be everywhere so it becomes the norm
had no idea this existed, I’ve almost lost my fingers fixing my vehicles outside when it’s -30 in january when I could’ve gone to one of these shops about 40 minutes from my house

Used our bay while I was stationed at Ft Drum in NY. It’s been a dream/goal of mine to be able to open a shop where I live to offer the same service. Totally worth it for the lift access alone. Good job Block
Cool as hell, good find. TAD (temporary additional duty) to the shop, everyone wanted that, guys that had that were happy dudes. I replaced clutch and heads on my truck there once, and we could use the tire changer, that was where I put tires on too. Congress and Carter passed a law that military couldn’t do civilian jobs, which Stopped the TAD, and they had to hire a civilian so the prices went up. We would do the work in the daytime and push our vehicles out at night to save money, more or less just the principle of it. Did ring job and cam chain on bike (XS750 special) in parking lot once, in front of barracks, because of CARTER.

Houston Texas also has one they charge $39/hr but they have specials where it’s like $5hr

Love this! My brother wants to start an auto garage, and I keep pushing him to do something like this and with the lack of motorcycle shops near me, I’d love to have an option like this for motorcycles, too. There’s actually a Discovery series about something like this called Gear Dogs.
