Am I the only smart one here who sees that what they’re doing is on purpose so that eventually we don’t end up having private ownership of cars like the WEF outlined for the year 2030? We know they can hire more people, but would rather have a robot do it, no more sick days and can work 24/7 unlike us plebs who require sleep.

Not fireing your staff at the first sight of an economical downpour is a way to avoid staff finding other jobs.

It’s not a labour shortage, it’s a shortage of people who want to work for less. Title should read: "auto-sector looks to outsource as wages rise".

Okay so we hear that the sector is moving from ICE cars to Electric vehicles which have 20 parts compared to gas cars which have upwards of 2000 parts and need constant repair where electric vehicles don’t. So people are most likely looking at a career in auto repair isn’t a smart move. IMHO cars of today have gone completely out of reach of anybody with common sense. $90,000 for a truck with payments of over a $1000 a month.

Who would want to be Auto technician? Supply your own tools (which you can’t write), the en get paid piece work where you might spend 8 hours on the job and get 4 hours of work. You can’t feed your family unless you have a second job.

The auto sector is a disaster. Who wants to become a mechanic.
