While well-intentioned, this video contains many factual errors about Taiwan’s history. Also, it accepts zero-sum logic toward trade relations which doesn’t take into account the costs and benefits to all parties involved and instead focuses exclusively on the priorities of American consumers. Not taking into consideration the needs of others in the supply chain is a serious flaw, and definitely won’t help to find a solution to the problems caused by bad trade policy.
Taiwan is part of China, that’s being absolutely accepted by the whole of the international communities since 1948. If you dont know that, you are not reading enough. Claiming China "invade" Taiwan is just as ridiculous as the US "invade" Alaska.
It’s time for North America and other countries to stop their self inflicted dependence on cyna slave labor goods and go back to making their own products. Yes we will have to pay more for things but at lease we will be keeping our money in our own pockets and not risk using products with lead and other carcinogens. Corporate greed has caused this problem, now it’s time for a change! I will never understand why super rich people and/or corporations are always looking for ways to make more and more money that they don’t need. The top 20 of the worlds billionaires could give 30% each of their net worth, never miss it and stop global warming and poverty. Thanks Scotty for sharing your knowledge!

I come from China, in our country, the price of cars has been rising, the same car is more expensive than foreign cars and the engine is different from foreign cars, the popular imported cars in China are Tesla, BMW, Audi, Benz, but most Chinese people buy the cars made in China because they are cheap.
Considering what is happening in China at the moment, I’d say this video is prophetic!

China isn’t about to invade Taiwan, doing so would destroy a big piece of their own economy. They can’t afford that with all problems they have with the real estate market, their economy is on the virge of collapse.
If you want to live no fear, against those thug regimes! Protect Taiwan means protect your live and your family.

Unlikely China will invade Taiwan, but the military industrial complex will play it as China will invade to boost their profit. 50% of Taiwanese want status quo. So as many China mainland chinese. War between Taiwan and China will devastate the economy of Taiwan China as they are very interlink. But then again US will continued to stir up tension to benefit the military industrial complex.

I know it’s not very important, but most of the Blank DVD’s and CD’s are made in Taiwan. The Chinese ones are junk. Just my opinion.

I know someone who has installed some of this equipment in Taiwan. If China invades, either Taiwan or the US Navy will level the factories. It won’t help the chip shortage, but it keeps it out of Chinese hands.

Hey man get it straight…we will never turn our back on Taiwan. Period. They’re not afraid of China. We supply them with spying gadgets to watch China. And like you pointed out they make advanced chips. So stop knocking on Pelosi..just because you’re republican. Taiwan buys a lot of weapons ftom us. Why don’t you start harping on America to start making chips here. Look China is a punk that needs to be handled like Russia. If we’re too scared ..then India will bust them up. Who makes up the rest of the pie chart? You have that Taiwan makes up 50 % (which doesn’t surprise me due to all the clothes in America made from there), China is at 17%, and an American company at 7%, so is the last part of the pie chart percentages scattered around the rest of the globe like Mexico, Africa, Canada, etc.? Im just wondering?
The shame of it all, is that we gave them the technology to prouduce, instead of keeping the jobs in the US because of cost. Now we are paying more than it would cost to produce here in the homeland. So the common sense thing to do, is start producing in the US again. Put americans back to work. What made America great to begin with can return. It makes no sense to rely on foreign countries for anything that we can prouduce. We have made China the super power that it is today. Pissing off China and going to war to protect Taiwan is not the smart thing to do.
Bring the jobs back home!!!!!!
