kw has 2 be the worst of the worst t680 sits up too high and there’s no comfort in the inside of this truck

  2. chickenbuttdeluxe on March 2, 2023 at 1:35 pm

" BEGINNERS" shouldn’t be buying trucks.. that’s a big part of what’s wrong with the industry now

  3. Kennth B on March 2, 2023 at 1:35 pm

Seen the comment about the clutch not releasing. I drove a Ford 8000 many years ago that kept breaking off the clutch fingers .
About every 10000 km we needed a new clutch so we often drove for 2 or 3 days without having a clutch that would release. They finally found the problem the bell housing was missing a brushing on one side so cross shaft was not straight and the release was running on an angle.
That was after they replaced 5 or 6 clutch.

  4. Monte D Young on March 2, 2023 at 1:39 pm

Resale is what’s important, and Pete’s probably matter more!

  5. Gerald Hernandez on March 2, 2023 at 1:41 pm

Ryan btw a create engine series 60 12.7, ixs or x15 or a 2020 paccar with 230k miles wich one would you tell me to get? Important decision

  6. Jimmy Smith on March 2, 2023 at 1:41 pm

Only thing I think kw needs is the side bunk door like Peterbilt but all should have them makes it easier on the driver to not have to go through the cab putting the stuff you need in it in the sleeper like your food

  7. Wet Willy on March 2, 2023 at 1:42 pm

Looking for a 07 or older Colombia/century wit a 12.7 or 14L 60 series in it for my first truck. Definitely gonna finish with a w900 wit a Cummins in it when I’m done.

  8. LOUD THINKER on March 2, 2023 at 1:43 pm

Turbo on a Pete can coat about 3X of Volvo though.

  9. Hudson Donnell on March 2, 2023 at 1:43 pm

All Class 8 truck manufacturers have been building progressively more junk since specifically 2008. The reason why modern Regen emissions trucks have the failure rate they do is because of the Chinese manufacturered electronic sensors, etc that make up the total package. The only engines I like, since CAT left the highway truck market, are Detroit Diesel Series 60 14L, DD15, DD16, and Cummins N14, and X15.

What’s the best box truck to start a fleet with

  11. It's Nicolas, Not Nic.. on March 2, 2023 at 1:46 pm

Hey Ryan, thanks for taking the time out to make these videos.

Have you made any videos about pros and cons & in’s and outs of being a diesel mechanic from being the employee of a company like Paccar, etc to owning your own shop? If not, are you interested in making a video?

If anyone else would like to chime on, it would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks ✌🏽.

  12. RyanDale on March 2, 2023 at 1:46 pm

Pete is lighter than KW. Makes a difference when you are hauling max weight.

  13. team ginate on March 2, 2023 at 1:47 pm

I agree Kenworth 2020 and up are the way to go.

  14. Jeffrey Crowther on March 2, 2023 at 1:48 pm

Best truck for you is the one that you bought in the toy store and drove on your hand and knees

  15. Julio Mora on March 2, 2023 at 1:50 pm

Sir, I’m going to buy my first truck, I know you like Cummins and Kenworths, but do you recommend me W-xxx or T-xxx. I really appreciate your help, is important to me Thanks

  16. Baba Yaga on March 2, 2023 at 1:50 pm

Kenworth is garbage. Cascadia is best for beginners with a Detroit or Cummins. Go buy a kenworth if you like squeaks and creeks in the cab as you drive all day. That’s not to mention all the faulty dash lights for stupid electrical things. Cascadia has lots of room, tight steering components, wider gear box, no sqeaks in the cab, tighter turn radius, easy to find parts. And cheaper to buy. Perfect for first truck.

  17. Brian B on March 2, 2023 at 1:51 pm

No one ever talks about the total cost to operate. That is initial cost, up/down time, parts availability, parts costs, and fuel consumption. One might be easy to work on but it burns .5 mpg more than the other. Well that adds up when you do 100k or more a year.

  18. Geo Estrada on March 2, 2023 at 1:54 pm

I believe they all good trucks the problem is the newest material is making this trucks aren’t good enough to last a lot more time,

  19. Larry Broad on March 2, 2023 at 1:57 pm

i change my turbo on my truck every 30 to 50 thousand miles that’s when they start having trouble also do all the sensors at the same time i have never had a breakdown in 10 years i think its just cheap insurance 2012 w 900 cummins 15 575 hp 18 speed trans

  20. Tim Marlin on March 2, 2023 at 1:58 pm

Look a price of rebuilds. Just do not like that Chinese Cummins used. DD15 hold up for longer and rebuild a third.

  21. ferdinand he on March 2, 2023 at 2:00 pm

    Vnl 860 the best choice

  22. Shipmate on March 2, 2023 at 2:02 pm

  26. Mortal Ocean on March 2, 2023 at 2:04 pm

What to look for in 2003-07 trucks.?
Some people like to buy them why ?

They kind of expensive for old trucks.

  27. Eddie Negron on March 2, 2023 at 2:06 pm

I have a 2016 volvo ISX 15 with a 13 speed trans going up the mountain in Pennsylvania goes up hills loaded like if I was empty got pretty good power

  28. Mohamud Nageye on March 2, 2023 at 2:06 pm

    Where is your shop?

  29. Logan Johnson on March 2, 2023 at 2:07 pm

I drove a 2001 freightliner classic xl with an N 14 commons 13 speed back in the day It was a sweet ride it was set up as a heavy haul by the original owner . It had been rode hard for 700,000 miles when i got it but after i got done going thru it I got a consistent 7 + miles to the gallon . She rode great worked hard people could not believe i had over a million on it with no rebuild on it . My only major issue was the sealed steering axle hubs .I once had an emissions test done on it for shits and grins and it shocked them .I was well inside of the limits of even new trucks of the time that was in 2013 .Just goes to show how important service and maintenance is . A few dollars up front saves thousands down the road.

  30. Luis E. on March 2, 2023 at 2:07 pm

What do you recommend now with all these new laws and restrictions being imposed on the trucking industry.

  31. brs rafal on March 2, 2023 at 2:08 pm

Company driver here been driving freightliners internationals for 8 years but past 2 years been Pete 579 Cummings. I love the ride power comfort compare to freightliner. Breakdown wise i feel like it varies from truck to truck. If i go independent deff Pete or kenworth

  32. FarmerJon on March 2, 2023 at 2:08 pm

what would your opinion be of newbies hauling tankers or hopper bottoms if they don’t really want to be hauling a reefer or van?

  33. Alexzadrian Nesbitt on March 2, 2023 at 2:10 pm

I just bought a KW with a Cummins ISX15. I’m having trouble getting the speed governor adjusted. I can’t go over 65, Can you help or anybody feel free to help. Thanks!

  34. No on March 2, 2023 at 2:13 pm

I owned three trucks last year. Just sold two of them. I kept the one I have been driving. 99 FLD with 12.7 60 Series Detroit and 13 speed Eaton. It was the oldest but the one that costed me the least to operate. God willing, it will be the only truck to owns and drive until I drop.Should I tell more?

  35. GEORGE WRIGHT on March 2, 2023 at 2:13 pm

    Hey Ryan

  36. Dave Hughes Farm on March 2, 2023 at 2:14 pm

Buy 1999 and under IH eagles & Freightliners for under $10,000 with 12.7 Detroits and then find a junk one for parts….

  37. Terrace Steven Kennedy on March 2, 2023 at 2:14 pm

Hard to beat a w900 with 18 speed predef ungoverned is the best

  38. Shipmate on March 2, 2023 at 2:14 pm

I liked my Mack Anthem with the Cummins X15. Was a great runner while I drove it

  39. Ivan Slobodyanik on March 2, 2023 at 2:17 pm

Kenworth and peterbuilt easy to work on? At least its not international those are the worst for me but freightliner is my fav. To work on over any other truck

  40. Carlos donestevez on March 2, 2023 at 2:20 pm

I’ll say this drive past a peckar, freight shaker or inter trash inal dealer and there are always trucks sitting outside the shop. But I most often don’t see any trucks waiting for repairs outside a vulva dealer.

  41. lion heart on March 2, 2023 at 2:22 pm

Buy none they are all money pit

  42. Rubio El Arabe on March 2, 2023 at 2:25 pm

Hey Ryan I just purchased a 2015 international Prostar with a cummins what are your thoughts on this truck like maintenance. The truck only has 312,xxx miles and my turbo actuator is bad.

  43. Arselan Ahmadi on March 2, 2023 at 2:25 pm

Frightliner is the best to me

  48. Tom P on March 2, 2023 at 2:30 pm

I’m looking into this profession as my second career however I’d like a sleeper for comfort and to allow my wife to come out with me occasionally. Can I have a 112” sleeper and still be able to haul the standard size trailer? The idea of a straight truck is appealing however I have no desire to be out weeks or months at a time because of family. I will be purchasing outright and plan to drive under my own authority

  49. Fozman on March 2, 2023 at 2:33 pm

New drivers do not buy a trk right now… Paccard motors are junk!

  50. 1966human on March 2, 2023 at 2:33 pm

The best truck I drove was a Western Star 4800, it was a grate truck to drive, it had Detroit engine, The Cummins is my favourite engine ( you can sense quality a mile away ) I drove a Kenworth and they are confidence inspiring, I never drove a truck with a good auto gearbox, they always revved too high and had strange issues, there was a good Roadranger gearbox I used, I always double clutched , but I realise you need to be able to use them without the clutch to get them back to the yard when the clutch pedal doesn’t work
