GET AWESOME (THG) HOMEWORKGUY MERCHANDISE. SHOW DEALERS YOU ARE IN CONTROL OF YOUR NEXT CAR DEAL!
https://teespring.com/stores/the-homework-guys-store

The Homework Guy Team publishes videos to help Car Buyers. We don’t hate Car Dealerships. Instead, we represent Car Buyers, a goal that’s often in direct conflict with Car Dealer goals.
A CAR DEALER WANTS TO:
1. SELL every car for the Highest Possible Price.
2. CONVINCE Car Buyers to use Dealer affiliated Lenders / Banks.
3. LOAD every Car Deal full of Fees and Finance Products.
4. OFFER Lowball numbers on every Trade Vehicle.

THE HOMEWORK GUY TEAM (THG) HELPS CAR BUYERS TO:
1. BUY a Car from Dealers or Private Party Sellers at the Lowest Price.
2. PAY Cash or Finance with their own Bank or Credit Union.
3. DECLINE Dealer Fees and Finance Products.
4. TRADE / SELL their current vehicle for the Best Value.

THG didn’t give Car Dealers their Bad Reputation. For more than 40 years, dealerships have EARNED it by being the masters of predatory selling. They stalk victims relentlessly, often ruthlessly treating the most vulnerable car buyers (like seniors, for example) with little or no conscience. Car Dealers and their Finance Officers have no problem creating financial devastation for their customers with over bloated car loans, and often do. While the business has had record setting profits, Dealers never stop telling Car Buyers “We’re losing money!” That’s the bed Car Dealers custom built for themselves. We point out the traps and the flaws of the process, and help car buyers get by all the nonsense without being ripped off. We promote fairness, honesty, and transparency, and we’d love to see a few dealers join our mission!

The Homework Guy Team provides car buying consumers with information, automotive news and updates, industry outlook, buying and selling advice, and other help to level the tables. The public face of THG is Kevin Hunter and the master negotiator, Elizabeth. Tons of time and research goes into every show, planning for weeks, several projects always on the table, all with the goal of getting it exactly right. From Automotive News Updates to vehicle shopping advice and assistance, The Homework Guy Team is the best there is.

How can I find the MSRP? I don’t trust KBB or Edmond those prices are always inflated. #thehomeworkguy

  2. Robert Smith on May 7, 2022 at 5:09 am

Greetings, fellow subscribers. It depends on who you listen too some say no boom and some say boom. I feel that the industry creates the hype to scare consumers that prices are going up to keep costs high. If the market is full of cars, dealers will cut prices, so who knows. You just don’t fall prey by sounding desperate.

  3. Mark Villano on May 7, 2022 at 5:11 am

With so many people taking huge financial hits this year, I find it hard to believe that there will be this sudden infusion of money with which to buy new cars. I just don’t see where it would come from.

  4. r g on May 7, 2022 at 5:12 am

Always good advice in these videos. Would still like Kevin to come with me to the dealership or do the negotiation for me. They would not try to scam Kevin.

  5. JK BR on May 7, 2022 at 5:13 am

at the root of all of this: inflation/money printing

  6. Coach John Roschella on May 7, 2022 at 5:14 am

What impact do you think EVs will have on total ICE sales? Are lagging companies like a Toyota going to lose sales v leading companies like Tesla, Hyandai, or VW

  7. JingleFlagTV on May 7, 2022 at 5:15 am

I have a 2004 toyota highlander 3.3 with 180k Canada. Why would I even bother wasting my money buying a new car. Thanks Kev.

  8. Mark Villano on May 7, 2022 at 5:15 am

If and when I buy another new car I will be using the valuable information I have learned watching your videos. And if, as a result I manage to negotiate a good deal, I will definately be forwarding a percentage of that savings to you in the form of a tip.

  9. JK BR on May 7, 2022 at 5:16 am

all of this possible only with lose money, which no doubt will continue. time to get into the repo business.

  10. Jason's Storm on May 7, 2022 at 5:16 am

What do you think of gm trying to take control of the price of the overpriced new hummer, away from dealerships

  11. trebolas1112 on May 7, 2022 at 5:16 am

As always, great information. Much appreciated Kevin.

  12. Jim Bowers on May 7, 2022 at 5:17 am

You folks are wonderful 💕 thank you for all you do! Please start a website where people register the price they paid for a vehicle. I will donate time to enter data (remote computer work).. thanks again

This are only predictions not Faq. Nobody could predict the future. In my humble opinion I think they would sell less cars both new and used for 2021. Thanks for the info Kevin

  14. Patrick Aiken on May 7, 2022 at 5:21 am

Hey kev what you think would happen if i buy one of your shirts an wear it to a car dealer when i go to purchase a car

  15. ClockFixer 1964 on May 7, 2022 at 5:23 am

I disagree………………the economy flat out sucks and won’t recover for years…….!

  16. The One on May 7, 2022 at 5:24 am

All I know is that the Toyota’s I’ve tried to buy lately have been well over MSRP. SO CRAZY

  17. Green&Blue Productions on May 7, 2022 at 5:25 am

About the car makers shutting down to drive up prices… I don’t know a single American one that did that… Tesla refused because you can sell cars if you have none and for the first time they were ahead of schedule on a model release… they went to court for it. GM refused to stop making cars to switch over to ventilators until they were paid more. Finally, Ford was the first to start switching over to ventilator production and refused to shut down when their workers pleaded with them too.
Mazda almost died after they stopped making cars… Like which region and which manufacturer were are you referring to in the video?

  18. TheWaterman1000 on May 7, 2022 at 5:25 am

Really. The idiots in Mich just block Tesla again to sell and services. Who has the money when many are out of work.

  19. Stringstriker on May 7, 2022 at 5:25 am

    Great informative video! #thehomeworkguy

  20. CHARLES VRETIS on May 7, 2022 at 5:26 am

Good information, but very disappointed that they never got back to me with a contract review. Even after I sent a $50.00 donation.

  21. Mark Villano on May 7, 2022 at 5:26 am

I feel that fully, (insurable?) autonomous driving will not be a reality until every car has the ability to talk to every other car in conjunction with whatever information it is receiving from GPS. Eventually, (and with many trillions of dollars) Smart Roads will be constructed as the final piece of the puzzle. There will come a time when all new road construction, along with existing road renovations will be federally mandated to incorporate Smart Road technology.

  22. ross montani on May 7, 2022 at 5:28 am

Great vids Kevin. Just wondering about the thousands of brand new unsold cars parked all over the country? Any chance in buying one?

  23. ThisorThat on May 7, 2022 at 5:29 am

Abraham Lincoln used the term Michigander. If it’s good enough for Abraham Lincoln it’s good enough for Lehto.

  24. HighDesertAdventurer on May 7, 2022 at 5:31 am

Was just quoted a dmv fee of 541.70, a corporation tax of 129.07 and a privilege tax of 135.17 in Oregon. This dealer must love suckers.

  25. Marc cres on May 7, 2022 at 5:32 am

I am sorry there smoldering crack, there is no one to bye for there not working. And them doing what they did I lost my shirt on stocks.

  28. Donny Kiles on May 7, 2022 at 5:34 am

The fact the outlook will go up goes to show people have not learned a lesson from pandemic after all the financial suffering.

  29. E SR on May 7, 2022 at 5:34 am

What’s a good financing rate for someone with a 760 credit score as of January 2021??

  30. BELLOBLOCK on May 7, 2022 at 5:35 am

I think it’s time to wear a hidden camera and show us some in-action vids at the dealership

  31. highrzr on May 7, 2022 at 5:35 am

Gonna be kinda hard for people that don’t have any money to buy a car when they don’t have job to go to.

  32. Mike Bright on May 7, 2022 at 5:35 am

I wanna buy a car the same way I buy milk at Albertsons. "There’s the milk, that’s a fair price, ring it up." Buying a car shouldn’t take longer than 30 minutes. I’ve been needing another car for almost two years but I haven’t bought one because I hate the idea of fighting with a dealership.

  33. zoom ev on May 7, 2022 at 5:37 am

there’s no shame in public transportation, walking, an e-bike … if you can. These growth projections are extreme delusions.

  34. Joe M. on May 7, 2022 at 5:39 am

Because the 30-50% of the population behind on rent and facing eviction or amoung the 10’s of millions of unemployed are just itching to buy that brand new car.

  35. Pen Craftsmanship on May 7, 2022 at 5:41 am

Lots no used truck prices 2018-2020 are almost as much as new if not more. Why is that?

  36. Carl Jones on May 7, 2022 at 5:44 am

That forecast is just a lot of insider blather. 2 huge unknowns right now; how bad Covid will get this wonter and secondly, how Biden and the rest of his posse will overreact and shut down the country. If you all remember last spring, dealerships were off limits or very restricted. One can’t sell cars if the store is closed and customers are too terrified to venture outside.

  37. sidharth chand on May 7, 2022 at 5:44 am

How about making less cars but with better quality parts? I couldn’t believe it GM makes a plastic thermostat

  38. Do Alex on May 7, 2022 at 5:46 am

Thanks Kevin, your videos are always well informative; when I am ready for new car 🚙 I want to have one your shirts 👕 on and watch the. Expression on the salesperson face!!!

  39. Terachos _ on May 7, 2022 at 5:46 am

Supply auto parts and we have been struggling to keep up. Around 10,000 pieces a week just for a crankcase we produce. Issue is finding people who are willing to work and show up. Unfortunately many have been stuck working 6 to 7 days a week.

  40. Blizzard on May 7, 2022 at 5:48 am

No covid here for nine months? I saw a dealership the other day, good trade in good discount on New car, then the finance clown? Happened, told them to shove it, I just came of long service leave, that’s ten years of working for the same people, and thirty years of good credit, treated me like a unemployed homeless person? My evidently good credit rating knocked them for a six,

  41. Dave on May 7, 2022 at 5:49 am

    We are getting a new 2021 car….in 2031.

  42. Cindy Wright on May 7, 2022 at 5:53 am

Kevin…May I send you an offer to review?

  43. Robert Polkamp on May 7, 2022 at 5:54 am

While Prive Party sales are preferred very few have 20k in the sock drawer or actually own a vehicle outright.

  44. heyitsablackguy on May 7, 2022 at 5:57 am

This channel really helped my decision making when buying a new car. I’m going the no haggle route next year. Can’t stand a dealership.

  45. Rugby ladice on May 7, 2022 at 5:58 am

    great voice

  46. Quentin Gerlach on May 7, 2022 at 6:00 am

There’s just no way the market’s going to go up by 10% — the U-3 rate is still close to 7%, and part of the reason it isn’t higher is because more people have stopped looking for work, so they don’t count against the official jobless rate. U-6 is thought to be around 12% (for the US), which is just too high to get a growth rate the industry is looking for. Interestingly enough, the auto industry was already starting to experience a slump in 2019, with demand in China falling sharply, Brexit woes and emission regulations all denting demand then. So 10% next year just isn’t going to happen.

  47. Mark H. on May 7, 2022 at 6:01 am

C’mon everybody! Let’s give these dealers more S.H.I.T. than they can stand!

  48. Fat Guy in the Woods on May 7, 2022 at 6:01 am

Why do truck sales numbers not concede why “car” sale numbers…. trucks always sell for more. There trade in numbers are always different. Why are trucks always so much more expensive????

  49. Patrick Madigan on May 7, 2022 at 6:05 am

Keep in mind as of this video airing. Does sales of automobiles depend on who is President in the USA? Was the good sales because of President Trump being in office? If Biden became president, will sales go in the opposite direction? Just had to ask… Great video… =)

  50. Ed on May 7, 2022 at 6:05 am

I just purchased a new 2021 Toyota RAV4. I paid MSRP but I got a $1500 off the price for air quality in the state plus my daughter received a $500 college discount. I applied for a State rebate for $1000 and since our income is less than a $$$, we also qualify for a rebate of $2500. We will be applying for the federal tax credit of $7500 which should also help. We did this since we were able to sell our older 2014 Prius model V for $16,000 which was a very good price. We also received a 1.74% annual interest rate for 60 months. So timing is important. Most auto manufacturers will control the production volume moving forward since if cars and trucks are sold at MSRP. The auto manufacturers will make more profit with less production. thoughts?
