What is GD&T in 10 Minutes
You might be wondering What is GD&T? The short answer is “it’s a system of dimensioning and tolerancing from the American Society of Mechanical Engineers which allows you to know with 100% certainty that your parts will fit and function within their next-level assembly. For a bit more detail watch this short 10 minute video!

This video was created to help beginners rapidly understand GD&T and quickly use the concepts in practical applications. Technical vocabulary was purposefully NOT used in an attempt to convey these topics to those who do NOT have a background in GD&T.
Thank you so much…I am a numbe mechanical engineer. Thank you for your information and support..it means a lot.
I don’t subscribe easily but after watching the video makes me to do 👍
S-tier Presentation/Explanation. Thank you this helped me a lot!
Great you are too great
Thanks
Nice one👍
Excellent excellent excellent….
Stands for Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing, right?
MORE VIDEOS BRO! PLS!
Thank you for your concise video. Also thank you for the time it tookto make this excellent video
Amazing video brief explanation about gd&t.
Perfect!
Brother please make more videos we need your help..pls make videos..
Awesome
Thanks
you’re awesome!!!! This was very helpful.
Good info teacher help to my self-service my fixtures
Why you do not explain what is that symbol
What is GD&T
how we can read it
How
Is this applicable to BS 8888?
You are better than the long hair guy :))
very awesome video
I like straight to the point. This helped me prepare for an interview- thank you!
Thank you
good video, but why not explain what the M symbol means? or the entire GDT symbol boxes by boxes starting with the localisation target on the left?
Dear sir please answer how these geometric tolerance values are chosen or on what basis are they calculated…. please answer
Amazing video but I do have a question, how the GDT technically guarantees with 100% certainty the part will fit?
Where have you been?
You didn’t tell us what any of the symbols meant. Pointless video. Tell us for 10 mins the same thing over and over worded differently is not helpful
Cool!
Romantically broken down!. Most likely going to stick for a long time.
great video
Thanks for so professional explains, very useful!
Thank god i found your video before teaching it to my students.. its very clear n simple..
Really great teaching, very clear
I love this guy.
It’s just a 10mins but a very strong fundamental details.👍
I’m not sure yet what the difference is between traditional D&T and GD&T. If I receive a diagram with both kinds of D&T, like the one at 7:44, then why can’t I use the traditional GD&T to guarantee that the parts fit and function together? Is traditional D&T more of a soft guideline or something?

Amazing way of teaching
Thank you for your efforts .
very well expalined 👏👏👏
Boring Sorry
GRETA VIDEO. vERY SIMPLE TO COMPREHEND
am preparing for technical interview through your video, thank you 🙏
What happened to him?
5:50 interface = “mating surface”
6:20 extruded boss must fit in bore
Thanks for sharing
Genius but unfortunately the thought hasn’t been completed
Awesome 😎 super explanation.
The intro explaning the essence of geometric function is great: Only in the contex of an assembly a function is realized. But no one is bothered by the lack of an explicit functional specification. I’m afraid so it can’t be surprising that the presented gd&t of a single part has errors: E.g. datum B and C are equal? Take care for the function: Every real feature of a datum has a toleance itself. This must be taken into account when calculating the calling geometric toleances! By the way one last question: What are the mainfunctions of a geometric feature? It would be very helpful to clearify this first.
Thank you for your explanation… Best Regards 🇧🇷
