6 Best First Jobs For Car Enthusiasts!

6 Best First Jobs For Car Enthusiasts! Even if you’re still in Highschool or College, here are some great jobs to make $9-$25, while still loving your passion! So Summer is coming, which means Summer Break is almost here. It’s time to get your permit or license, learn the pain of commuting, and the glory of grinding as you find your first job. So here are the 6 BEST First Jobs for Car Enthusiasts!
Tire Technician
We’re going to start this video off with the better paying entries, but also one of the most labor intensive ones. Especially if you live in a big city, where the stream of customers will be constant. While some places may require a Highschool Diploma, the only real requirement for most is to simply be 16 years old and willing and able to work.
Do you have a license? Can you drive Manual or are at least willing to learn so you don’t embarrassingly stall a customer’s car or even worse, grind it’s gears? If so, being a Service Porter at a Car Dealership is a fantastic first job!

Ok, now watch the rest of the video to see the other results, I’m not about to hit the character limit on this description pasting my whole script here just to have some dying auto-outlet steal my script and plaster it in one of their listicles.

As a car wash attendant it’s an easy job at least the one I work for it’s mostly just remembering what to do. It does get hot inside the building but it’s with the money. They have hosted car meets here and every meet they’ve hosted there was some amazing cars

You’re tripping when it comes to delivery job.

How did you know about Dave? My illegal pet tiger?

The summer is the slowest time for carwashes. If your in a state with winter, it will always be busier in the winter. Also you make tips, which will vary depending where you go, but I would regularly make 8-20 an hour in tip alone. Not an easy job, also weather dependant which kinda sucks.

I work as a pizza delivery drive and it’s the only time I’ve been ok with going to work lmao

  6. Eli Wilson on November 27, 2023 at 6:00 am

AutoZone now allows 16 year olds to be hired, however you can’t drive the company cars until you’re 18. Either way nothing like getting paid to drive a car you aren’t paying for gas in.

Ive worked at an oil change place for a few months now and I’ve got to say it’s not bad at all! I’ve had all kinds of cars come in for an oil change from Porsches to Amg Mercedes Benz’s. Probably the coolest car was a hellcat redeye that came in and did a burnout AND a launch control pull after he got his oil changed😂😂

Im a full time test driver and i can agree, if you make your passion to your job it loses its appeal – i used to love back road weekends but since i do it daily and am payed for that, i rather sit at home beeing lazy

  10. Abcd Efgh on November 27, 2023 at 6:03 am

8:41 to add on to the video, some companies (not delivery related) like to rack up little miscellaneous expenses as it reduces income, which reduces the income tax the company needs to pay 😆

*But please be vigilant by not randomly destroying your workplace’s stuff on purpose because this attitude depends on each individual bosses*

forgot to mention a auto parts store, like auto zone, you learn what parts go where and the ins and outs of the parts

  14. St buck on November 27, 2023 at 6:08 am

Come work as an aircraft mechanic. You can start as an apprentice while getting certified. And it pays better and your inside most of the tim in climate controlled hangar! Learn fabrication skills and how to navigate the manuals. The og’s teach you how to troubleshoot and most of the stuff on planes translates to cars.

Best job for a car guy? Banking and finance so you can actually afford the super cars you have wet dreams over.

My plan is to figure out a course or soemthing that teaches me how to wax and repair paint and paint, and wrap, tinting and body repair, cosmetic and exterior work is what I love best and I want my career based on that

  17. Deeznutzonuchin on November 27, 2023 at 6:09 am

I went from 1.7 years at autozone, taking 3 years off of the auto industry, to landing a job at mercedes benz as a parts advisor raking it in.

    My tips:
    1) be presentable, and practice being well spoken.
    2) stay clean cut, ans respectable from an appearance perspective
    3) DONT BE AFRAID TO SAY "I DONT KNOW". Too many know it alls in the field, youll just complicate shit for customers and your coworkers. You aren’t jimmy neutron, work with your team, nobody is judging you.
    4) For the love of god, its not rocket science, you sell parts… dont act like the world is ending, youll stress out your whole team if you cant relax.
    5) For the love of God, don’t be a know it all. We shit talked all of those guys who acted like that.
    6) Let your associates handle their own customers and sales unless they specifically ask you for help.
    7) Learn to shut the fuck up every now and then, most parts departments/parts stores are tight knit, you guys spend ALL DAY together, dont be an annoying fuck.
    8) Dont do too much drugs.

I drove for amazon while in technician school, I tore my ACL. Amazon gave me the run around for 3 months. They never fixed it and fired me bc I couldn’t come back to work. I finished school now a line technician making less then I did driving delivering pizza. Yeah😂😂

  19. User Name on November 27, 2023 at 6:10 am

ive done mostly warehouse jobs, though i do food delivery as a side gig (good way to make a quick $100, bad way to live off of). i also do another gig where i one-way box trucks to another building or auction. the gigs are usually $15-20/hr but also not your gas (except chase drivers… who get higher pay and are reimbursed about 32c/mile)

  20. Dwight Schrute on November 27, 2023 at 6:12 am

The one thing about working on cars professionally is that you may get tired of working on your own car.

as a Car Guy I would NEVER EVER work with other peoples cars….

  26. Asen Damyanov on November 27, 2023 at 6:18 am

As someone who worked food delivery and then switched to grocery delivery(with a company van) I can confirm that you pretty much hit the nail on the head. Only dowside is you get used to the van much more than your car. I actually hit my car really hard when parking the other day because I forgot that it has a long hood and not like a van haha

i feel like i have one of the least expected jobs as a car guy. like i currently daily drive a ’19 ecoboost premium with the performance package but i work as a game dev/software engineer xD. ill be at the car meet and they like "bro how did you afford that?" "so like i made this game where you have to shoot people off floating islands with a shotgun and it helped me buy this car, plus im 19" "yo wtf?!?"

  28. _Risen on November 27, 2023 at 6:22 am

  29. ZeR0g on November 27, 2023 at 6:23 am

Rn I’m 17 making $16/h, just waiting till I’m 18 to get a better job, start making more, and hopefully getting a better car, most of the money from this job is going to go into a motorcycle

  42. Sahnig Reinlöten on November 27, 2023 at 6:41 am

This is so interesting. Living in Europe, none of these jobs exist or are entry level in the slightest and require either years of work experience, a degree, or an apprenticeship. Or they‘re just not as well paid / give the same benefits. I feel like the only true entry level jobs that exist in my country are retail, delivery, cleaning, and being a helping hand in a kitchen / doing fast food. One example would be the tire thingy. This isn‘t a dedicated position here, it is expected to be part of the job of a technician, for which you need at least an apprenticeship (years of barely paid slave labor followed by an exam you rarely get prepared for).

  43. Josharuni on November 27, 2023 at 6:44 am

Next do one with college kids as now it’s even harder to make more money, plus school so mostly part time.

  44. TwistyTube on November 27, 2023 at 6:46 am

called my local pep boys and they’re hiring! thanks bladed angel!

  45. Jerzy Fabjan on November 27, 2023 at 6:48 am

Yes, doing tires especially at season it’s veeeeery profitable like veeeeeeeeery. One month and you can get a car. 3 months and you can afford good condition and really nice car.

Definitely agree about the valet job. I started at 17, and by 21 I’ve had the opportunity to be in a Cullinan, Huracan Performante, Raptor R, M4 Comp, etc.
