I’m a women that’s one thing I learn is to buy a car thats easy to work on. I fix all my cars my self I don’t mind getting dirty. I recently upgrade my 87 comanche by my self . My husband helps if he feels like it but those trucks so easy I don’t bugg him to help .my nissan versa 6 speed stick shift is allso easy to work on but the parts I have to order. So now I buy American cars lol easy to order parts and some are easier to work on . I taught this to my kids is to buy a car cheap and easy to work on.
I love how he always puts pictures whenever he is talking
I see now why a lot of young people are putting gas engines on their bikes. Cars are breaking down often and they are expensive to fix.
That’s the truth I’m a diesel mechanic and a NY firefighter but believe me you I make way more money as a diesel mechanic then as a firefighter but I have alot of time off as a firefighter so on my free time I make the big bucks on diesel heavy equipment to good old work trucks
Now your phone is your car key and house key too

My golden goose is my 2000 toyota corolla
I think I’ll walk at this point
He said “don’t buy these five Cars”.. and explained how every engine works. I stopped halfway said wait that’s like all the cars haha
I think we should just improve the steam engine
Hold up I’m confused are the Toyota 8 speeds good or bad ?
Benz s500, bmw 7series, lexus ls500, Audi A8. Very nice car when new. When it breaks, u will be bankrupt.
Rockauto has ceramic pads for 1/3 the price of Autostoned
PERFECT
Yep, bought a 2014 Nissan Sentra 2 yrs ago before I read about CVTs, exactly 2 yrs later bearings are going/whining sound, never again with a Cvt, dont care who makes it 👎
I wonder how Scotty will look without moving his hands ..
one of my friends bought one of those ford focus eco tec cars with a 1 litre turbo charged engine
So don’t buy anything made after 2000 and you are good 🤔🤔🤦🏼♂️🙄 sorry but change happens
I love your show, and I know you are right, but look at the mechanical simplicity of a Honda Insight drive terrain. It only has a clutch doesn’t even have a real transmission. There are Youtube videos that break it down extremely well. I hope they are on to something!
Also, when turbos fragment the pieces can get sucked into your engine and destroy the damn thing
would have been great if he showed the motor of a 1962 ford falcon, there’s an acre of space. easy
We need a neoclassic car wave! we want easy cars back!
Repairing
Scotty’s arms do all the important talking 🙂
Hey, Scotty Kilmer, I heard that low mileage cars are very unstable and wear out much more easily than a car that can withstand 500,000 miles. That car that you demonstrated was in perfectly good condition when it was first purchased.
Better having a horse 🐎 after seeing this video 🙉
Scotty what are your thoughts on a 2015 2.4 cvt crv
Thank you Scotty every time I use information that you give me it seems to fix the problem so thank you again
Lost keys 80’s Toyota P.U. – use pocket knife.
Should I trust buying a 2002 crysler seabring with 78000 miles For 2800 with the 2.7 I’ve heard bad things about um
I have my late dad’s 72 Corolla, a great winter car. Bare bones, he did put an AM radio in it. It has almost 500k miles on it, but the only major repair was the timing chain. A little rusty, but still solid. Toyota makes great vehicles.
I’m a woman in my early 40’s. Not mechanically inclined at all. Found out about this guy while searching for which cars are lemons. This was 3 years ago…my husband has my old car…highlander thing has over 250,000 miles RUNS TOPS. It’s a 2010 this thing will outlive us all. Currently looking for another car for me. Here I am again down ‘ Uncle Scotty’s ‘ rabbit hole of practical, knowledgeable, wisdom and advise.
I wish this guy was my charismatic uncle….definitely put this man in charge of the fireworks at Cook outs.
I have a 15 year old VW TDI with 140,000. She’s a tank!
Europeans know how to repair diesel.
My 2007 Camry hybrid has been a beast for me. Almost at 225k and just has been such a great car. The radio kinda sucks now so I just use my Bose speaker dock for the sound system 🙂

Saab’s may fall in category of hard to get parts. Not sure why someone would buy a used one. Because super cheap? Thoughts?
Were you ready to pee your pants in this video or just excited to relate to us things we appreciate learning? Love ya Scotty.
Wait until all the home repair bills hit you for letting that Ivy grow on the outside of your home.
Thanks for keeping it real and not selling out scotty
Last (used) vehicle purchase I made, I tried to avoid pretty much everything. I ended up with a bicycle but it still has TPMS. Dangit.
what is the difference MPG between a 6 & 8 speed AUTO ?
In defense of diesel… Cummins. Not cheap but straight forward to fix
