I’m a women that’s one thing I learn is to buy a car thats easy to work on. I fix all my cars my self I don’t mind getting dirty. I recently upgrade my 87 comanche by my self . My husband helps if he feels like it but those trucks so easy I don’t bugg him to help .my nissan versa 6 speed stick shift is allso easy to work on but the parts I have to order. So now I buy American cars lol easy to order parts and some are easier to work on . I taught this to my kids is to buy a car cheap and easy to work on.

I see now why a lot of young people are putting gas engines on their bikes. Cars are breaking down often and they are expensive to fix.

That’s the truth I’m a diesel mechanic and a NY firefighter but believe me you I make way more money as a diesel mechanic then as a firefighter but I have alot of time off as a firefighter so on my free time I make the big bucks on diesel heavy equipment to good old work trucks

I love your show, and I know you are right, but look at the mechanical simplicity of a Honda Insight drive terrain. It only has a clutch doesn’t even have a real transmission. There are Youtube videos that break it down extremely well. I hope they are on to something!

  24. Seth Wooten on March 29, 2023 at 6:13 pm

Also, when turbos fragment the pieces can get sucked into your engine and destroy the damn thing

Hey, Scotty Kilmer, I heard that low mileage cars are very unstable and wear out much more easily than a car that can withstand 500,000 miles. That car that you demonstrated was in perfectly good condition when it was first purchased.

I have my late dad’s 72 Corolla, a great winter car. Bare bones, he did put an AM radio in it. It has almost 500k miles on it, but the only major repair was the timing chain. A little rusty, but still solid. Toyota makes great vehicles.

I’m a woman in my early 40’s. Not mechanically inclined at all. Found out about this guy while searching for which cars are lemons. This was 3 years ago…my husband has my old car…highlander thing has over 250,000 miles RUNS TOPS. It’s a 2010 this thing will outlive us all. Currently looking for another car for me. Here I am again down ‘ Uncle Scotty’s ‘ rabbit hole of practical, knowledgeable, wisdom and advise.
I wish this guy was my charismatic uncle….definitely put this man in charge of the fireworks at Cook outs.

My 2007 Camry hybrid has been a beast for me. Almost at 225k and just has been such a great car. The radio kinda sucks now so I just use my Bose speaker dock for the sound system 🙂

Saab’s may fall in category of hard to get parts. Not sure why someone would buy a used one. Because super cheap? Thoughts?
