since you are a begginer,here is a tip from me a begginer how sterted 6 months ago.i have an ender3 pro which is basicly the smaller version of your machine,and what i want to tell you is that these machines are incredibly stable if you tighten their Y and X axis belts,meaning that since you basicly cut the model in half creating a superflat surfase you could have printed both parts verticly with no supports whatsoever. also you can use a bit of gluestick to help the prints stick better.On top f that yoy can also increase the base layer thickness in the slicing software or ad a "raft" to ensure perfection in your print’s base.i know it sounds complicated but once you get understanding it it reallly is basic…

I know it’s been several years since you tried the carbon fiber overlays using 3d prints, but I’d love to see you try again! I think with a bit more time with the 3d printer you could get the prints to turn out REALLY good and then have a great place to start with for the carbon fiber.
At some point something similar but got too many other projects going on right now 🙂

What kind of cost would you be looking at to print, say, a car bumper without the carbon fiber? Is it even feasible? I’m thinking if you had a scan of a rare body panel that is no longer made, could you 3-D print one if you had a good scan without having to mortgage the house?

Nice. I’m making little adapters for my interior and some other knick-knacks out of PETG. An enclosure would make this stuff perfect, IMO. Until then, I just go hot and slow.
Also what was the Poly filament you used? I’ve been wanting to make An ITB intake adapter that will sit right against the engine

also please for the love of god flip your prints over your using like an insane amount of support material
Be aware, high temp PLA doesn’t handle car temperature during summer. PETG barely does but is fine.

Play with your settings , as the supports should never be that hard, you can set an airgap between the support and the build, which will make removing the supports easier

Hey man this is exactly what I was thinking for customizing my car. I’ve got a question, now that you’ve owned this 3D printer for about a year what are your thoughts on it related to printing car parts. What I want to use it for is basically the same thing, air diverters for brake duct cooling and maximum air flow over the radiators. Anyone’s thoughts or opinions on this 3D printing car parts topic would be greatly appreciated and helpful. Thx!
