This is the story of the top 10 ugliest cars of the 1990s. As cars got sleeker and more aerodynamic, the automotive industry underwent a sea change in the 1990s. Sure, we saw some beautiful cars in the 1990s but we also saw some ugly cars in the 1990’s. The ugliest cars of the 90’s may be the nicest car for others and that’s ok. Except for the caprice and the taurus , I actually like every car in this video, even that Chrysler imperial, I remeber being 10 and sitting inside one I was like wow this feels so great and spacious

I have a 1999 Buick Riviera. I have 144k miles on it and have had no major problems. The engine is bulletproof. I have driven through mountainous regions, and always had enough power to pass with the supercharger. I owner a Cadillac DTS later and I still prefer the Riviera. I still have it.

If the 1990’s was the "Ugly decade" what’s the progression of those designs into the 2000’s to present day, called – "Even uglier"?
The ugliest of the 90s have nothing on those of today. All of these “crossovers” and mini suvs are the ugliest, fugliest vehicles ever on the road

Don’t think the Lumina, Catera or the Caprice should be there, or even the Taurus or the Imperial. Sure, they weren’t handsome but you want Ugly from that era? Lots of cars come to mind, 1990-92 Hyundai SCoupe, Mazda Precidia, Honda DelSol, 1991-93 Honda Accord, Oldsmobile Achieva, 1990-92 Toyota Camry and its Lexus cousin, the 1992-94 Pontiac Grand Am, the Toyota Previa, Nissan Quest and Mercury Villager these are all cars uglier than most on the video
disagree on that the big thing I disliked about the styling of the 91 Chevrolet Caprice was the bug eye headlights and maybe looking like a shrinky dink compared to the gen it replaced. though I maybe a bit biased as my dad drove a used 1984 Caprice Classic from Oct 1993- May 2000
Those are some my favorite cars! Love the Caprice. I had a Riviera and I still love it.
The 1995-99Buick Riviera, ugly, are you kidding me!!!!.That was either one of or the last sharp looking Buicks ever made and a definite improvement over the 1986-89 models, If you want ugly in a Buick look at the big fat TURDS that Buick builds today!!!!!!.

None of these cars I think are ugly. I’m not saying these cars don’t have any other faults but design wasn’t one of them. I think the BMW E36 3-series was less attractive than any of these cars, despite being a better car than most on the list. Just never really liked the square headlight 3-Series Bimmer.
I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder. The car on this list I found ugly is the 1996-1999 Ford Taurus. The other vehicles may have had their reliability issues, but they weren’t ugly.
Yep. The 90’s by far had the ugliest cars ever. I do. not think there were any decent-looking cars in the 90s.
Love the SVX!
The 90s fairly was, by and large and stylistically, the “bathtub era” of automotive design. It was, I think, dually about “aerodynamics” (also VERY surprised that this list omitted the Buick Riviera and its siblings as the epitome of this era) and a desire to differentiate stylings of cars versus the era’s (wildly popular) SUVs and pickups. Also stunned that this list omitted the PT Cruiser.
The 2023 Hyundai Ioniq is the worst looking car of this century thus far.
I must disagree with your opinion of the 94-98 Mustang . I have a 97 and get a lot of compliments on the styling and look of my Mustang. I personally love seeing as how I bought it for its design

My list goes like this: 1.1993 Toyota Previa: probably the ugliest minivan ever built 2. 1990 Toyota Celica looked like a Salvador Dali watch 3. 1993 Mazda Previa looked like a warped balloon 4. 1991 Mazda 323, Mazda made some nice looking cars in that decade, but this wasn’t one 5. 1990 Hyundai SCoupe tried to make a sports car out of an Excel 6. 1992 Subaru SVX video tells it all 7. 1993 Buick Riviera video tells it all 8. 1996 Ford Taurus 9. 1992 Oldsmobile Achieva probably one of the ugliest cars GM has ever built 10. 1995 Dodge Neon an ugly design. Honourable mention to 1992-94 Pontiac Grand Am, 1995 Buick Skylark, they were both ugly

I strongly disagree with this list. Most, if not all, of these cars are either bland, boring, or weird. BUT. NOT. UGLY.

About the only ones I can agree with are that Chrysler Imperial, the Ford Taurus and the Cadillac Catera. I think the rest of the list was just for comedy’s sake. The Caprice wasn’t even close to ugly, the Mustang… eh, The Monte Carlo and the Lumina were both wildly popular cars and almost universally accepted, and the Porsche was getting a little long in the tooth, so a facelift was in order, which they got right since they managed to modernize it a little but they also made sure that everyone knew what it was at first glance. The Subaru was ok looking too; definitely not one of their best efforts, but definitely not ugly. There was one more that I don’t remember, but I’ll get to it later when I have a little more time.
Most of them are cars I used too see on the roads in 80’s & 90’s they looked normal.
I love my monte and by 1995 standards it was a very nice looking car as was the lumina that’s why theys were so popular then! They out sold the "ugly" taurus.. which I personally liked the styling of aswell
90s, 00s, 2010s, 2020s cars are ugly I don’t like curvy design. 70s and 80s had the best design.
The Chev Lumina yes was bad but the ’94 mustang was ok

The Imperial and the New Yorker are the same car. I owned an Imperial. I loved that car.
Ford gave Australia the Taurus in the late 90’s. It didn’t last very long.
I like a lot of these. They have personality, much better than the host of suvs that all look like a high top shoe we have today.

LOL! Loved this list! I was a kid in JR High and High School during these days and this is pretty much a list of the cars you didn’t want to be seen getting picked up from school in. Also on this list would have been the Pontiac Trans Sport or the 1994 Chevrolet Camaro. My friends used to say they looked like "big ass Geos". Not that I took it personal because they were making fun of my mom’s car or anything.

ALL of these cars got caught up in a huge circle of ugly! 90’s vehicles looked alike for the most part! As far as the Chrysler Imperial goes through, had I bought 1, the White Walls and Wheels would have been replaced with some "Old School" Cragers from the early 70’s and some Black Wall tires. I liked the style of the vehicle. FORD, as always, "had a better idea" which is why the Taurus was an Oval shape like most of the other Ass Ugly cars back then!!! The Caprice wasn’t bad looking when customized though, but those sorry excuses for a Lumina, Monte Carlo and Rivera truly SUCKED!!! These are the reasons why Buick, Oldsmobile and Pontiac bit the dust!!! GM became to arrogant and self absorbed that the Real Style Vehicle Designs we’re Destroyed!!! 😢 Such a waste of talent building all of that garbage!!! From 1992 until last Labor Day, I drove nothing but Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep Vehicles!!! Until I bought the 2015 Terrain, I kept my 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo from 2003 until 2021!!!
