There is much more that impacts the cost of vehicle ownership than just the sticker price. You might buy a car that’s a bargain, only to spend more fixing it in the long run. Plenty of cars out there are still giving owners endless headaches. Even cars that people trust to be reliable turn out to be bottomless money pits.
So we dug into Car-Edge data, which ranked over 200 models from best to worst for maintenance, based on millions of automotive data points from a variety of the industry’s leading data providers. Among the list, we picked 10 luxury SUVs with the highest maintenance and repair costs compared to the vehicle’s price, along with the probability each model will incur a major repair during the first 10-year ownership.

Buy a Toyota /Lexus, and stay away from domestic cars

  2. @user-uy5cp3qv2s on April 18, 2024 at 5:17 pm

Your list only includes European cars excluding one which is a Cadillac, you was referring to the cheap materials in an AUDI? Wtf dude, none of the US cars have any quality inside or outside, poor plastics all around. European cars are more expensive because of the safety engineering, but engines durability and materials quality.

Hey looking at consumer reports I see a big jump in reliability form 2017-2018 would the 2018 model still be on this list?

  4. @OscarZheng50 on April 18, 2024 at 5:19 pm

ah yes i was waiting for the bmws

  5. @mss627 on April 18, 2024 at 5:21 pm

This is an excellent report. Most reliability reviews don’t include the cost of repairs. This really puts things in perspective.

    Thank you ❤ good info

  11. @michaelstanley3961 on April 18, 2024 at 5:26 pm

Interesting stats,US or UK, and the odds are misleading as you don’t know how the cars were driven, I have a jag F pace, 8 years old 120k miles, only ever had service costs, the wife has the Porsche 7 years old, again only service costs and a door handle hardly major. Any machine relies on regular maintenance and care, drive it like you stole it and eventually you’ll break it, although as a current Land Rover owner I know each one comes with a free bag of spanner’s, I’ve rebuilt mine on several occasions but that part of the enjoyment of ownership lol..

He has the most calming voice….I can listen to him talk about anything

  13. @123hermdagerm on April 18, 2024 at 5:29 pm

What about Chevy, Ford, Dodge, Jeep and GMC – like most of us drive. All your examples are likely over 100 grand.

  14. @InvincibleAkuma on April 18, 2024 at 5:30 pm

Lol mostly European cars. Europe makes shit cars and claims to be LUXURIOUS😂😂😂

  15. @armanitransport2604 on April 18, 2024 at 5:31 pm

Did anybody notice that when you see these SUVs on the road and you ask yourself, 🤔 why the f##k do people still buy that sh!t ? Lol

  16. @88jdiesel on April 18, 2024 at 5:34 pm

Damn, the jag is shit? I was gonna switch from my x4m to it.

  17. @gtc108 on April 18, 2024 at 5:35 pm

Is Lincoln not on here because it’s reliable or it’s not considered a luxury vehicle?

  18. @CynicalDriver on April 18, 2024 at 5:37 pm

I’m convinced "Mike" is AI generated alongside the narration audio. 😂

  19. @Ac22768 on April 18, 2024 at 5:38 pm

Just publish a list so we can save 12 minutes of our lives as opposed to watching a garbage AI video.

Crap cars, crap cars everywhere 💀💀💀👀👀

  21. @hellofranky99 on April 18, 2024 at 5:38 pm

Hold up. Why isn’t the Porsche at the top of the list when it is the most expensive to maintain over first 10 years of ownership as well as the highest rate of major repair?

  22. @MeauxGreenMusic on April 18, 2024 at 5:38 pm

So everything except for Toyotas, Hondas and Kias… Got it…..

  23. @testymann5045 on April 18, 2024 at 5:43 pm

    10) Jaguar F pace
    9) Audi Q3
    8) Volvo XC40
    7) Cadillac XT4
    6) Porsche Macan
    5) Range Rover Evoque
    4) Mercedes Benz GLA
    3) Land Rover Discovery/ Sport
    2) BMW X3
    1) BMW X1 and X2

  24. @TravelingDave27 on April 18, 2024 at 5:43 pm

I own a Jaguar F-Pace so I can probably say this from that perspective. 99% of these guys making these videos don’t actually own cars from these brands and base opinions/facts off of consumer reports which has been notoriously wrong for at least the last 5 years. Is an F-pace expensive to maintain? Yes although it’s nowhere near the price of Mercedes, Audi or BMW. It’s mostly give and take for ownership of a luxury brand. Pre-2014 Jags are incredibly unreliable especially when owned by Ford, since Tata took over production the reliability in Jaguar specifically now rivals most luxury performance brands across the board.

Also if you can’t afford the repairs then you probably shouldn’t own one since that’s the main reason people complain.

  25. @bradley7506 on April 18, 2024 at 5:47 pm

I’m glad my new 2023 Nissan Murano didn’t make the list……😅

  26. @RyanBlockb5 on April 18, 2024 at 5:48 pm

Nice try, but I can tell you’re using a computer voice. I hate computer voices.🤬

  27. @warrenber on April 18, 2024 at 5:49 pm

What about Maserati? I’m going to bet it would top the list.

  28. @xpokerxpoker8490 on April 18, 2024 at 5:49 pm

    Awesome

  29. @mikeragansr.340 on April 18, 2024 at 5:50 pm

There are so many engine options for the F-pace you really can’t lump them together. For example the Ingenium Diesel is terrible and probably contributed to most of the major repair in the first 10 year stat. Take that out and the F-pace petrol like my 2018 30t R-Sport are very reliable.

  30. @jd6808 on April 18, 2024 at 5:51 pm

No Landcruiser ? FJ CRUISER ?

  31. @Molloy1951 on April 18, 2024 at 5:54 pm

Funny this electronic filter applied over his voice. Too artificial.

  32. @neilwells7900 on April 18, 2024 at 5:55 pm

Yawn…. Probably the worst video I have watched… maybe ever. Of course things will need maintenance, but this is just rubbish. It doesn’t really tell us anything about any of the cars.

  33. @user-xm7ug3zq5m on April 18, 2024 at 5:57 pm

I don’t think this is accurate mate!

  40. @dennismwangi6918 on April 18, 2024 at 6:04 pm

European car engineers should up their game . I still think there’s time for change, I’ve always loved their cars but it’s so sad to hear their running and maintenance costs, it’s a little bit frustrating.

  41. @Icelandlover on April 18, 2024 at 6:05 pm
