If you haven’t heard the news, Illinois is kind of a sinking ship. A lot of people are leaving this state. In fact, more people left Illinois than any other state in the last decade. Last year alone, 51,029 people left the land of Lincoln, meaning .4% of folks skipped town. Many moved to nearby Indiana, Wisconsin, Missouri and even into the southern states.
Every ten minutes someone leaves this state for good. By the end of this video, we’ll see another Illinois goodbye.
Why? For many reasons I’ll talk about, but generally, people are tired of the taxes and the government mismanagement. But it’s also the cold and the gloom and the lack of jobs and the crime. Right now, Illinois is the 6th most populous state, but soon, Ohio will pass Illinois for number of people.
Now the places we’re going to talk about all fit into the ‘sucky’ category when it comes to quality of life. These upcoming cities are all perfect examples of struggling communities in this state, and a big reason why Illinois people are Illinoyed. Here are the worst places in Illinois that you could possibly live.
It’s places like Chicago, Kankakee, Rockford and Peoria.

I have been living in Gurnee, Illinois. I have loved it in Gurnee. Although it is way to dangerous after all these crimes that happen all over ILLINOIS.
I hate it here the people here are soooo mean if your black and live in a nice like Naperville downers Grove ect white people here are so prejudice they asked you are you from Chicago? All the black women here have 3 or 4 kids and very ghetto everyone in though even the white people and Mexicans take all the warehouse jobs

Honestly, the southern part of Illinois is really beautiful. The worst part of Illinois it the people.
As a person who lives in Chicago , and went on a road trip I then realized something I never did before, it suck’s. I hear gunshots every night and I hate it but one day it willl be better than ever

I predict in the next 50 years, the socialist states of Illinois, California and New York will be ghost states. If it weren’t for my family, I’d have been gone years ago. Now I’m working on getting my CDL so I can take myself AND my family the hell out of here. There are lots of good people here and it breaks my heart to leave them but I’ve had enough.
Being from kankakee. The county is one of the best places to live in Illinois. Taste of rural but still all big chain stores you’d need. There is plenty to do, and being on the border of souther suburbs, you can get really anywhere pretty quickly. The city of kankakee has been on a decline since the 80s, with plants closing, but there is still an abundance of work here. Not to mention affordable rent prices for nice homes.

Your way off about East St Luis. It’s decline started in 1917 go look that little gem up.
Central and southern Illinois is good. Chicago is a cesspool and crime ridden full of junkies.
I left 4 years ago for Tennessee. Much safer here, and less taxes and regulations, and more friendly people here. (And less Liberals)

The decline of anything starts at the top. Without oversight its an avalanche. With corruption comes decline. If no one addresses corruption its a domino effect of failure with a few people richer and the majority poorer. This effect also forces some people to crime. Viscious cycle.
After looking at some of these, I’m feeling better about Granite City, just don’t like the steel mill.

Well yeah. Most of this is correct, but people find a way to live. Things are done differently everywhere depending where you live. So ig hearing a gunshot and cars honking everywhere five seconds in the middle of the night is just normal to us.
